Bild's report today mention that the loan fee for Origi is €3m and will increase if he fails to get games. Sounds more reasonable than the £6m which was mentioned earlier.
[article]Shortly before the summer transfer window closes, the Wolves have secured the services of Divock Origi. The 22-year-old Belgian international makes a one-year loan move from English Premier League side Liverpool FC to VfL Wolfsburg, where he will wear the number 14 jersey. A purchase option has not been agreed, with the details of the loan transfer remaining undisclosed. Born in Ostende, Belgium on April 18th, 1995, Origi moved to from OSC Lille to Liverpool in the summer of 2014, but initially remained at the French first division side for a further year on loan. As from 2015, the talented young attacker began his active Liverpool career and has since made 51 Premier League appearances for the Reds (twelve goals, five assists), as well as making twelve appearances in the UEFA Europa League (two goals, two assists).
"In Divock Origi, we have secured the services of the attacking player we had most desired. He has often proven his undoubted quality both nationally as well as internationally and, for his age, boasts an enormous amount of experience. Divock is a pacy, determined and dangerous attacker, who will make our offensive play more varied and unpredictable," stated sporting director Olaf Rebbe. The Belgian signing is equally enthusiastic about the new challenge. Divock Origi: "I am excited to join Wolfsburg on loan for the season and am looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Bundesliga, a league that I have always regarded as one of the best in the world. Once it became apparent that Liverpool would allow me to leave on loan it was clear in my mind that Wolfsburg would be the best option for me. I was really impressed with what the club had to say with regards to their ambitions for this season and can't wait to get started. I am looking forward to what I hope will be a big season for the club and will give everything to try and help the team be as successful as possible on the pitch."
Divock Origi has been through all of Belgium’s nation youth teams from Under 15 level onwards, eventually making his 'A' international debut on May 26th, 2014. So far, the attacker has won 23 caps with the ‘Red Devils’ - including two run-outs at the 2016 European Championships in France – scoring three goals for his country. Wolves fans have previously had the opportunity to view the new-man’s talents at the Volkswagen Arena: During the 1-1 draw with OSC Lille at the group stage of the 2014/2015 UEFA Europa League campaign, Origi converted from the spot for the visitors.[/article]
[article]Wolfsburg say that Jurgen Klopp may have played a role in Divock Origi’s loan move to the Bundesliga, with the club’s sporting director Olaf Rebbe saying “20 clubs were after him.”
Several clubs were interested in the Belgium international, with his dad and agent saying last week there was interest from Tottenham as well as France and Germany.
Speaking to Bild, Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe said that Origi was one of the most wanted players on the market this summer.
“Over 20 clubs were after Divock,” Rebbe said, adding that former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz coach Jurgen Klopp might have played an important role for Wolfsburg to help them secure the loan deal.
“It might very well be a factor that Jurgen Klopp knows Bundesliga and also [Wolfsburg],” Rebbe said. “He knows which platform he has when he gives a player away.”
Meanwhile, Bild reported on Monday that Origi will get more expensive for Wolfsburg the less he plays.
The paper claimed that the basic loan fee of €3 million could for instance increase by 20 percent if Origi only were to play 80 percent of the matches possible.
Wolfsburg did not comment on the clause.
Bild also reported that Liverpool have the chance to recall Origi in January, as reported by English media last week.[/article]
