Nathaniel Clyne has suffered another injury setback that is likely to keep the Liverpool defender out until February.
The right-back, who has endured a miserable campaign after sustaining a back injury in a pre-season game in July, will now spend up to three more months out recovering from a minor operation.
Clyne had started running again at Melwood in September when Jürgen Kloppcalled his progress encouraging but the 26‑year‑old has had surgery which will delay his return further. The setback is even more frustrating for the England defender with time running out for him to stake a claim for a World Cup squad place.

Huh, maybe he is actually injured, and not just being kept under wraps until all that gear's been washed out of his system?

I hate the complete lack of specificity when it comes to injuries and medical procedures.

There isn't really any 'minor' back surgery.

Suppose it's better than the alternative which is completely incorrect conclusions being drawn as the writer has no fucking clue.

I despair at reading media accounts of health and science.

I could live with wild speculation so long as they got the injury described correctly.

If he’d have failed a drugs test and secretly banned them he’d have a return date. He doesn’t have one so I suspect that’s bull shit.

Klopp: Listen Nat, we're going to have to keep you under wraps for a few months until this drug thing blows over.
Clyno: Cheers boss.
Klopp (4 weeks later): People are buying the bad back thing Nat, there's not long to go.

Klopp (4 weeks later again): People are not buying the bad back thing Nat, we've scheduled you in for an operation.
Clyno: Cheers boss.
