Wasnt shown on the TV.
Disgusting behaviour really.

Colombia tried it against England too I think

Not the first time I've seen that done this tournament

A good deal worse, I'd have said. Croatia weren't angels (nobody is at that level) but Colombia were the absolute pits.
Yeah, Colombia were horrible. The disappointing thing was they could actually play football when they stopped it for a but towards the end in search of their goal.

Indeed. I actually reckon they sold themselves short and could well have won the game if they'd trusted in their ability.

Yeah, it was odd. It wasn't as if they were up against some unbeatable side. They should have at least been the equal of England without resorting to all the shit they did.

Why do professional teams try doing this? Both teams need to be in their respective halves before a kick-off/restart. Are they really that thick to believe a referee will award them a goal? Apart from anything, it's very unsporting and disrespectful.

Whilst its bad.. The celebrating from teams this world cup has been appalling.. Mina celebrated for a good 2 minutes and wasn't booked. I think Mandzukic was close to that and wasn't booked.

Needs sorting out. Or stop the clock for 60 seconds. After which teams can restart regardless of whether the team is still celebrating.

I think they use this time because the TV companies wont allow the kickoff to be taken until they have shown a replay of the goal from 40 different angles.

I’m fairly certain a referee will add time on if a goal celebration is taking longer than it should.

You'd like to think. You really would. However it really is a booking under the laws of the game. Especially if they go into the crowd. Which both the examples above did.

He did give them 5 minutes at the end of extra time. I think that works out to about an extra third of the normal time.

Still a booking!

The booking itself would have required time for the player to walk over, the referee to show him the card, the player to remonstrate over it, the referee to explain the booking, other players to run over and have their say, some pushing and shoving might have resulted, and Mandzukic would have ended up on the floor suffering convulsions. Nobody wanted that for a pointless yellow, the referee was just trying to get on with the game.

Colombia were up against 12 men in every single one of their games, you can hardly blame them for trying to even the playing field using clever gamesmanship.

I agree. I do think the ref should be able to stop the clock as happens in rugby. This should also happen with more serious injuries too (or someone feigning a more serious injury).

You missed a bit..
Filed a lawsuit to Dantes to get said Yellow card rescinded and referee thrown out the tournament. Whilst repenting his sins to the FIFA overlords.
