Sooo, surprised to see that there hasnt been created a thread regarding this yet. But the documents that was publicized this weekend set Infantino, City and PSG in an even worse light than anyone thought possible. We all knew it was dodgy, but not that UEFA was directly involved with helping these two clubs escape punishment while they were investing fantazillions into their teams. Hopefully this will start something in getting rid of Infantino and punish City.

Der Speigel have recieved about 70 million documents, so loads more will be released soon I guess.

Just some of the stuff that was read this weekend, and more today;

This would have been a massive scandal years ago but it's almost accepted now that people with money will break or change the rules to suit themselves. Amazon, Google , Apple and the rest of the corporations have got away with financial manipulation for years so it's no surprise that state sponsored football clubs are getting in on the act.
When you are sponsored by the same place that owns you it opens it up for abuse. No wonder Pep went there it's a bottomless pit of cash and indulgence.
Is there anyone within FIFA or Uefa that isn't a corrupt cunt?

Er.......no.

Although it didn't take a cynical mind to wonder if the £400m (and ever-increasing) Etihad Man City shirt sponsorship and Etihad stadium rights deal that were negotiated, paid by, and then paid to exactly the same people, might have been open to some kind of value and price manipulation.

The thing is, even if it comes out as it is doing, that they're crooked as fuck, they've already set the bar against any sort of punishment by saying they'll tie up UEFA/FIFA/FA etc from now until the end of time with lawyers and appeals etc, as they have infinite money and can buy lawyers that are far better than anything their enemy can afford. So nothing can be done. Would need government intervention, which they would commission and would take like 5yrs, then city would get to see the report first like the chilcott, then they'd appeal against it for the next 5 million years.

there will be no bans. they will simply fine multi-billionaires a drop in their proverbial ocean.

When the offence is spending too much money the solution is not a fine. It's quite ridiculous but brilliant for the organisation that came up with it.

precisely; its absolutely win-win for UEFA. take action plus fill their own coffers

Yeah, paying Mancini and Sane half their money from blag overseas companies is something the HMRC will definitely be interested in. I'd have thought, anyways.
There's little HMRC could impose on them that would actually make any difference to the club.

Also , good luck proving that Mancini wasn't advising on some blag basis and therefore working outside of his managerial basis anyway.

Some sort of weak ass fine for tax-dodging inbound , oh or maybe follow the Spaniards suit and just levy some suspended jail sentence against them

So far this is all stuff that they’ve already been sanctioned over.

There’s one about tax avoidance to come- which “might” have different ramifications.

Besides Mancini's double contract, what about the players?

Double contracts?
Sane's salary is 60K-90K pounds per week, but according to Football Leaks documents, he is guaranteed a salary of 28M euros in his first 3 years. The difference could be paid by another company to keep it hidden.

Probably they have the same arrangements for other players.

Triple contracts?
Players image rights are paid by another company (into offshore accounts?)

If they do this with players salaries, they may also do it with transfer fees. Part of fees declared as official transfer fee and another amount paid by another company/person into another bank account. Read something somewhere about Napoli? saying something like this about their player City was interested in. Jorghino? Mahrez?

HMRC, FA/PL, UEFA should be interested and shld investigate.

Nothing will be done - unless HMRC can ping them for tax evasion - which will be difficult.

Otherwise they’ll hire Dantes and he’ll set a new record for the longest case never to reach conclusion.

He seems to love concluding on every point he makes, which might be a problem.
