Having just returned from a test match between Denmark and Germany at U19 level, in a stadium filled with scouts from around Europe, here's a few future stars to keep an eye on.
Kevin Holzweiler
This kid makes Zola look big. He's only 18 and can still grow I reckon, but he's Spearing sized. Having said that he's looking quite a footballer. Created two goals, one being ruled out for offside however.
Amazing speed, great skills and constantly setting up teammates. Skinned past three or four defenders at will in the first 45. Wonderful little player, that's going to have a great future ahead of him. On the books of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Timo Werner, Stuttgart
Striker. Fast and clinical. Scored twice with one ruled out. One of those finishers that makes it look ever so easy.
Pierre Emile Højbjerg
Ok, he's beyond our reach already having made his debut for Bayern Münich - their youngest ever but he reminds me of Steven Gerrard really, watch out for this lad.
Strong as an ox, skilled like few, scored a blinder after only a few mins, back turned to goal, chested the ball down, turned a defender and blasted it into the net. Doesn't lose a pass or a tackle or any one-on-one's, not at this level anyways. He's 17 still.
Casper Radza
Goalie and the first time I've seen him in action. Made a few incredible saves and leaped as high as I've seen any goalie leap. Not the biggest in terms of physique but very athletic and very good on the ball too, despite having a rather insane Grobelaar moment too.
Oh, Denmark's boys won 4-1 and this without Anders Christiansen who has just got his unofficial Chelsea debut in the US and Inter's Patrick Olsen.
And of course Viktor Fischer, who was sat a few seats from me as he's with the International team.
I gave him the "sign for Liverpool look". Should work.
