The champs goal against Chelsea is the most Impressive thing he did, for me, anyway .

Dedicated to @keniget - how fucking amazing was he?

Perhaps the most naturally gifted player ever?

I've never seen a player play the game with such ease. He was a joy to watch.

If he had the work ethic to match his talent he would've been truly truly frightening.

Does Messi have work ethic, or at least of the level you're thinking of? I just thought his game went to pot as he got fat?

Ronaldinho was your stereotypical luxury player - he didn't really track back or do much defending but he was worth accommodating because he was so damn good. Messi on the other hand, will work hard for the team (although seemingly less these days).

When I said work ethic, I meant generally speaking though. I might be being harsh as I can only judge what I see on the pitch really but I find the fact that Ronaldinho let himself get so out of shape disappointing. I don't know to what extent injuries played a part - the loss of pace was a big blow to his game - but even so.

It's interesting to consider whether he did let himself down or not? He played for some of the greatest clubs in the world, won almost everything (leages, champ league and world cup) - its diffi to argue he hasn't fulfilled his potential. Although, I think there is always an element of 'what if' in terms of doing more.
