NFL 2014-15 (Offseason / Draft / Regular Season)

Winston suspended for whole game now. Perhaps Clemson's reputation for yanking defeat from the jaws of certain victory made the half-suspension rather pointless. This now might make the ACC interesting. I suspect FSU will still have enough at Tallahassee, but should Clemson successfully get after Maguire...

The new statement didn't have Fisher's name on it, so looks like a school rather than team decision.

Dominating performance by the Steelers against the Panthers.

Enjoyed the WVU - OU game. I thought we mached OU very well till the beginning of second half and then OU took off.

Thought the Raiders probably deserved at least overtime against the Patriots but ya know how it played out the massive choking twats.
Cardinals looking beasty too.
Corners remind me of Seattle's last year.
Kaepernick and Harbough were all at sea that second half.

I doubt it. He's a lot of fun to watch and is steadily improving (his completion % was a bit ropey last year, but he's turned that around), but he's undersized for a starting Sunday QB. That said, he is tough as old boots. He got battered last season and saw the games out with a torn rotor cuff (which it looked like he might have suffered against the Cowboys, so hid and played with for a while). But in the pros he'd get swamped. He'd have the same problems RGIII has, and he doesn't have Griffin's ball skills.

He's in a pass-happy team, so he'll be on TV a bit this year, and him and Kevin White should put up some nice looking numbers. I reckon he'll have a similar path as Seth Doege last year - he'll decalre and probably go undrafted, signing up somewhere as a FA afterwards. I wouldn't expect him to make it past the preseason though. At a stretch he might make a practice roster, but I doubt it. There's not a lot of value in him for an NFL side. Doege plays in the CFL though, and if Trickett wants to play pro ball for a while, that would be a viable option.

Fuck ever happened to SaintGeorge? Who else's face am I supposed to laugh in about Tulloch?

That's funny. Hopefully coaches will ask their players to stop doing their stupid celebration moves now.

ESPN.com is running with a story that Suh will leave Detroit and he likes the idea of New York ...

They've also suspended one of their best reporters for a few months for calling Goddell a liar ... which he is.

If Murray stays healthy, I think he breaks Dickerson's record ... I'm going to say it because I rarely give him any compliments, but Jerry (or whoever has taken over his body over the last few drafts) has created a young, hungry, dominating OL that reminds me of the good ole days and has signed up a defensive monster in McClain ... We're not going to win the super bowl etc but we have a very good, young team and I think Garrett has earned himself another contract.

Went to the Miami-Oakland game yesterday. The Raiders are really, really, bad.

Derek Carr looks okay, and the opening drive was impressive. Jones made a lovely diving reception in the drive. And then that was that. Carr threw a pick that was taken back to short yards and let to a TD, and then went off injured in Q3. McGloin came on and, hilariously, his second snap sailed right past him and Finnegan scooped it up and took it back half the field for six. Raiders as a unit were absolute muck going both ways. If Carr is the future, they're going to have to draft and trade well around him. I don't see Dennis Allen being there too much longer.

Tannehill looked good, although Raiders were so shit it's difficult to draw many conclusions. He was spreading it around a lot though. Mostly to Hartline and Landry, some big plays to Mike Wallace. Nice work from the TEs too. Clay had a couple of nice long gains and Sims got a nice TD. Tannehill had like 250 just in the first half. Must have made fourteen, fifteen straight completions at one point. When they get him clicking, they're a difficult team to beat. No consistency though.

I don't understand anything about the Raiders. The defense was awful. They were matching up two on three on obvious screen plays, and tackling like a college team. On offense, Carr is only allowed to throw shallow sideline passes. Makes no sense. He has a arm, and you're not getting much out of your schemes. Let him go deep. Although, he came off injured, so it's Schaub or McGloin, which isn't a pleasant decision. And Jones is probably their best receiver. Moore is shit and Holmes is nine foot tall but has baby hands. The INT against Miami was his fault. Sacking coaches mid-season never goes well though. The only two I can think of who came in and had winning records in recent years are Garrett and Singletary, and I think they were both 5-4. It's not much of an upside to bank on.

Patriots going in underdogs against the Bengals in Boston on Sunday.
Unbelievable to think that.

He's a fucking dragon. They used that three TE package he scored against the Raiders with at Wisconsin, but I never thought I'd see it in the pros with a DE. Watt spoke last year about trying to get Kubiak to let him do it, but he wouldn't. Bill O'Brien obviously decided if they're paying him $50m he can do what the fuck he likes. And apparently he can. If they can keep Clowney fit, those two are going to tear some heads off. Watching them go every year against Luck, who I'm convinced is some type cyborg, is going to be a lot of fun.

What's also going to be fun is watching the Raiders trying to prevent Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware shaped holes being punched through them twice a tear.

ESPN running with a story saying there's tension between Brady and the coaching staff and he may not be the QB come next year.

What a ridiculous play by dez in overtime ... THat is just unreal ... Cowboys are a better team than the TExans, but penalties, fumbles, INTs, and poor play calling ... There was too much talking this week about the 'Cowboys' and it got to many of these players' heads ... We're an average 4-1 team, that needs to grow up a lot but nice to have an OL that can dominate, and next week, it will be a game (vs Seattle).

Enjoyed that cowboys win.

Steelers won today. It is only the second quarter but the patriots are dominating the Bengals.

A weekend of upsets in College Football.

Oregon, Alabama, A&M, Oklahoma all lost and dropped out of top 4.

Gotta love the massive overreactions on ESPN. Ole Miss and Miss St to the playoffs! To the final! Rename it the Magnolia Bowl! Can't wait for the massive 180s if Auburn take State to the shed next week. They've got to go to Tuscaloosa too.

Dak Prescott does do the business for the Dogs though. Allow the Dak. And Nkemdiche and the rest of that Ole Miss front four are a wall. But still. Everyone lost their minds a little bit.

Frogs beating Oklahoma was the funniest.

And what the fuck is going on in the PAC 12? Cal and the Arizona teams have decided to play basketball on the field, and Oregon and the Cardinal have obviously decided the playoffs are not for them.

The loss wasn't even Bama's biggest problem. That looked a ghastly injury Kenyan Drake picked up. He's done for the year at least, and he was team leader with six TDs so far.

Props to:

Manning on 500+

Witten on getting into the 10k yard receiving ... That's #3 behind Sharpe (10,060 I think) and Gonzo (15k+) ... He's not as key to the passing game, so I'm not sure Gonzo's record is beatable but what a career for this player ... HoFer
