NFL 2014-15 (Offseason / Draft / Regular Season)

Bama, Oregon, FSU, Mississippi State, TCU, Ohio State
Mississippi St leapfrogs FSU with a win against Ole Miss.

If TCU dominates their schedule, and FSU edges wins in close games, you wonder how this will play out.

Yeah, bad news for FSU that they couldn't jump over Oregon, who weren't even playing. Ohio State could be the winners here, as they'll have a conference title game against a Wisconsin who are beginning to look like a real team again. Miss St have the egg bowl, which is a good win so long as Ole Miss don't lose at Arkansas. Baylor have a ranked Kansas St left, a win which will give them a conference title and probably leap them over TCU unless the Frogs absolutely pound Texas into the dust. FSU will be hoping Duke fuck up as at least Georgia Tech are ranked right now.

Thing is, there is an abnormal amount of respect for FSU's zero. I mean, you have to think that if the committee believed that an unbeaten FSU could be jumped over by a one loss team based on strength of schedule alone, then they'd already be behind them. But they're not. If they were ranking mostly on just pound for pound who they thought was better, then Miss St would be three if they stood any real chance of jumping FSU. I'd say FSU would have to look particularly flaky against BC and Florida to get in real danger of losing a playoff spot. And both games are at home. Win both and beat GT/Duke and I don't see wins over Vandy and Ole Miss resulting in Miss St climbing. Maybe for one week if the Gators run FSU real close and the Bulldogs smash the rebels, but the extra game should be enough for FSU.

If everyone in the top seven wins out, then I still think Miss St are in danger of slipping out of the top four in the last rankings. I just cannot see the committee ignoring both the Big10 and ACC title games, even if Ole Miss are ranked above both opponents. It's the timing. Miss St will be inactive. I think the top three have matters in their own hands, and the choice will come down to Baylor vs Ohio State. And Ohio State have that extra game.

Kansas State defeat Mountaineers at home :(
Horrendous first half for Trickett. Taken off due to concussion. The bright spot is that Skyler Howard looks promising.

one week later, the college rushing record for a game is broken again ... some true frosh from oklahoma with 420+ yards.

Kansas were so poor. Completely dominated by the Sooners line. I don't even remember the kid breaking a tackle. They just handed him the ball and he walked through the revolving door that was KU's defence.

FSU survive another close scare. I am beginning to think their season could end at the hands of Florida.

I'd fucking love that. But as many squeakers as they're having, they are winning all of them. That's not nothing.

Odelle Beckham - wow that was one helluva catch..Potentially the best I have seen in the NFL..

His pre-game warm ups are insane. Just a whole routine of casually ridiculous one handers. Last year when LSU went to Sanford he caught the kick off one handed as it was going out the back of the end zone. Dude is Spiderman.

These rookie wide receivers this year have been aces.
Evans and Beckham have impressed me the most and Sammy Watkins looks a beast too.
Imagine if any of them had a top quarterback throwing at them.

It's also interesting to look at the QBs who were throwing at them in college and see that the least likely of them has made the starting position his. Manziel has been punching fans and sitting on the bench behind a journeyman who barely had a hundred completions in six years before this season, Tajh Boyd is playing for the Boston Brawlers (!!!) in a minor league, and somehow the sixth rounder Mettenberger is starting.

Load of really promising receivers who are either seniors or eligible underclassmen now too - Amari Cooper, DeVante Parker, Kevin White, Devin Funchess, Jaleen Strong, Ty Montgomery, Sammie Coates, Rashad Greene, Dorial Green-Beckham.

How bad did the Bears look this weekend? I wasn't sure who was Tampa Bay, or who had one of the highest paid QBs in the game ...

Can someone let Tony know that December doesn't start until next week.
He can properly shit his kecks then.
Outplayed by Colt McCoy and Mark Sanchez in a couple of weeks.
That takes some doing even for Romo.

He may have chocked in the key games (against washington - INT, against Eagles 44-6 (not really much he cuold have done) namely), but his december passing stats are amongst the best in the NFL year after year ...

Cowboys have played really badly ... Blaming Romo for it is pretty pathetic - He wasn't missing tackles on the 1st 3 Eagles drives, wasn't fumbling or not getting calls on blatant pass interference calls ...

He's not the reason they lost. This is the worst they played all year - they don't look prepared (A late game on Sunday in New York, and a home game 4 days later? Very good scheduling there), and they just look tired and 'off' the level they were at last week and in general this season.

It's easy to blame Romo, but we were just outplayed by a strong, better team in every aspect of the game ... Hopefully, doesn't derail the season.

He's a fucking coward.
Typical Cowboy excuses right there.
That much vaunted OL doesn't look to hot in high pressure games does it?

So I guess you've checked the stats and realized at least until the last game of the season, he plays pretty well?

No excuses ... Better taem won.

One bad game for the OL in 12 gamse and now theyr'e not very good? Ok ... Great analysis.

Apart from the Seahawks who has Dallas actually beat this year?
Don't say the Saints because they're awful this year.
Not like Dallas fans to blow up their chances in September is it?
The Arsenal of the Nfl.

We manhandled the Seahawks. The score flattered them. I guess a team's wins should be based on 'strength of schedule' now? You can only beat what's in front of you - and even then, the Cowboys fail miserably where they shouldn't (Washington etc)

Who blew up their chances? I would have taken 7-9/8-8 at year's start. We have a extremely strong offensive unit - like last year - and a very average defensive unit - like last year.

I would say the 'Arsenal of the NFL' if we actually had some playoff success ... We're more like the Liverpool - giants in the past, but no longer there bar name.

It wasn't a gripe at you just Cowboy fans I know in general.
Most were comparing this Ol to the great wall of the 90s.
All that after 5 or 6 games.

They definitely have the potential to be as good as that line - Smith is fantastic and he's not 24, Federick is really good too (despite being manhandled vs Philly) and everyone is talking about the rook from ND as the best ROOKIE in the NFL this year ... Free is average, and Leary has is solid ... I think this line has that potential ... but it will take 2-3 more years for all of them to hit their peak AND often times a player's greatness is judged by rings (which they have 0 of!)
