So what has the transfer committee addressed?

The positions we were seriously lacking last season, have they been addressed this season (despite the large plethora of players signed)?
We lacked a competent striker last season so this season we have Ings and Origi. Ings looks like he's over awed and we don't know too much about Origi.
The Defence seems clueless last season and he goes and buys a right back and a potential in Gomez.
They have a lot of deadwood they need to shift, which by current reports will remain at the club next season. The amount of shitty players leaves totally deflated.

Buying new defenders when we've spent a HUGE amount of cash on them in the last two seasons will not save the problem or look even remotely good for Rodgers.

We've bought an extremely good right back, the first since Steve Finnan, & a good young prospect.

It's almost impossible to judge considering we change our formation and style of play so often with Rodgers that you don't really know where new players will fit in.
Clyne is a good player but whether that means the defence improves it's hard to say as we don't tend to defend as a team very often which leads to defenders being isolated or overrun at times. With our full backs often used as supplementary wingers it tends to mean the centre halfs have to go wide to cover for them if the opposition break down their wing and this has led to all sorts of problems defensively.
Not least of which is not enough midfielders tracking the opponents runs into the box.
I think that clyne is better than Johnson but i don't see us being defensively solid overnight unless this O'driscoll fella has some good ideas on how to organise a defence.

It's perfectly fair to judge how the transfer committee are doing after we've signed six players. It doesn't seem to me like they're really learned anything. There's some decent cheap signings, some good mid-priced ones, and there's a couple of overpriced ones that will struggle to match the price we've paid.

Same as most years.

Its been a great transfer window so far, and still two months left to adress the striker and midfield situation.

We've done most of our business before pre season starts, which we didnt do last year.
I'd say thats positive...

I would really like to know how much the transfer committee has actually had to do with this summer's moves. The choices we've made, and especially the speed with which we've moved in for the players concerned, do not look like the work of a committee to me. If I'm wrong about that, though, I'll be very pleasantly surprised and encouraged.

I'd guess they're 100% responsible for them
