I have a hard time finding these on the web, so I'll try to maintain my own little table.

[See last post for the latest table, now I will do it this way so we can follow the changes match-to-match – thanks @Gerry_A_Trick for the idea]

Methodology:
1. All competitive matches are counted
2. Penalty goals are in parenthesis
3. Shots and passes that lead to own goals are credited as assists
4. Earning a penalty or a direct free-kick from which a goal was scored counts as an assist
5. A shot or pass that is saved, blocked or deflected by an opposition player (or rebounds off the frame of the goal) before being converted by a teammate counts as an assist. If there was more than one deflection prior to the goal-scoring touch, the assist doesn't count and the goal stands as unassisted.

If you disagree with the Methodology I use to count assists or with the way a particular incident has been judged, please comment here and I will put it up for a poll.

I know it's not technically an assist but I think it's very unfair on the likes of Coutinho, whose pass for the final goal on Sunday ultimately created it but will be given zero credit in the assists charts, then again Sterling made the run.

Could we have a separate chart for just league stats or am I being greedy?

Fair play Rurik, you are great to put time and effort into your posts.

You can get that here. Just scroll down to the Liverpool Squad section; click on the headers to sort by goals / assists, etc.
http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool

Doesn't have a goals/assists table with own goals incorporated, but it does have other interesting numbers in the various tables.

You can get assist stats from Fantasy Football i'd imagine? Or would you have to individually check each player?

I use espn soccernet for stats. They have goals / assists for every player and you can go back to previous seasons.

I actually prefer to keep it simple. Other websites do provide stats for league only; I like to combine all competitions to increase the sample size as much as possible.

I changed the methodology (see above). Let me know in the comments if you agree with the change.

Updated through Stoke. Assists credited to Lallana (for Lambert vs Palace), Lucas (for Lambert vs Ludogoretz), Sterling (for Hendo in the same game) and Lambert (for the initial shot before Johnson's goal vs Stoke). I think many websites would not credit the last one, but I think it's wrong. A shot from which a rebound was scored is added to the Methodology in the initial post.

Lambert has been by far our most productive attacking player recently.

Updated through Basel. Sterling earned the free-kick for Gerrard's goal, so he gets an assist – already his 7th this season.

Updated through Bournemouth. I counted Markovic's goal as unassisted, because there were 2 deflections after Coutinho's shot (goalkeeper save and then a slight touch from a Bournemouth defender). Tough luck for Phil, get another one next time!

Sterling and Henderson get a lot of stick for where they are on that table.

Yes, especially Henderson – his general levels of performance were rightly criticized, but the numbers don't lie – he has been our 2nd most productive attacking player after Sterling.

Updated through Swansea. Finally a high-scoring game from us with lots of points for many players: 2 each for Lallana and Henderson (2 assists including one for the own goal), and one each for Moreno and Coutinho.

Henderson is the second player in our squad after Sterling to go into the double-figures in G+A – not bad for someone who is "useless."

Updated after Leicester. Sterling and Coutinho both get assists for winning the pens.

Updated through Sunderland. Markovic's goal counts as unassisted, because it bounced off a defender before he tucked it in.

5 players – Sterling, Gerrard, Hendo, Lallana and Coutinho – have been responsible for exactly two-thirds of the team's goals and assists so far (I excluded own goals). This is our creative hub.

Sterling has 20% of our overall number of goals and assists, Hendo 15%, Gerrard 13%, Coutinho and Lallana 9% each.

I wonder is that typical? I would guess it is fairly similar for all teams.

I wonder how long it will take Sturridge to at least overtake Lambert in the scoring charts.

Hendo somehow gets an assist for Coutinho's goal – lucky for him. Nothing lucky about Can's assist.
