Arsenal : Are they in the shit ?

I don't think it's really fair to equate Arsenal under Wenger to Liverpool under Budgie.

It's not THAT bad.

It's worse. Hodge was so bad you knew he'd get the sack sooner or later, once we got the right owners in. It was just one year of pure hell.

Wenger on the other hand, is protected by history and rock solid mediocrity. He's been there so long it's almost as if they named the club after him. There must be people on this forum who weren't even alive when he was appointed! Short of him decomposing it's hard to see how they'll get rid of him. Meanwhile the club rots away year after year...

P.s. Looking back the one year under Hodgson felt like three (I actually had to Google it) I can't imagine what the last five years felt like for Arsenal fans

I think Arsenal, with some good decision making over the next six months could undergo some miraculous metamorphosis.

Lacazette and Aubamayang , a new manager and some fresh blood supported by a cash rich club no longer reluctant to support their coach and obv Wenger nowhere near the club in official capacity and they could easily be back amongst the top sides

So , here's to another contract for Wenger

Unfortunately he's going, though probably upstairs. Yes, they are nowhere near as badly off as we were in the Hodgson years. It sounds like they're still going to have some superb players on the books, they do have cash to splash when needed, and despite their whinging supporters they are a very well run club. The demise of Arsenal isn't catastrophic by any measure.

LOL! Dortmund are pissy over Wenger talking about Aubameyang and no contact from Arsenal over said player...

Thats good news!

Saw that earlier too - incredible scenes if Dortmund tell them to jog on when they've just gotten rid of Theo & Alexis on the assumption that Auba is coming in. They are so so thin on the ground and not looking much closer to addressing that. Great to watch. I can't wait to see how they deal with ST prices for next season, will they offer a reduction? The fans will go nuts if they don't

It annoys me that they’re being bailed out to a degree with Sanchez.

Mkhitaryan and cash potentially for Sanchez is an amazing outcome for them.

Agreed. I would have liked to see him just sold for a small amount of cash. In this climate, Henrik is a 35-40m player.
