Seeing as Gomez is off to Turkey I'm guessing we can close that whole swap thread.

Both Sampdoria and Bologna have stated that they are interested.
The Sampdoria president said they would be interested if we lower the 7 mill £ asking price.
Bolognas DoF said they are interested in a loan but might be interested in a permanent deal if the fee is acceptable.

Would you sell him for less than 7 mill? We will probably have to pay part of his wages either way.

I still think he could be a decent player for us if we, you know, actually played him and looked to get some service and support to him. Absurd idea, I know.

Yes, BUT his attitude and desire to succeed as a player isn't there so it's a waste of our time trying to see his 'potential' as thats literally all he's been relying on for quite some time now.

It is and it isn't. There were some games when he was visibly trying pretty hard. He was great when he came on against Spurs and played well in a couple of other games. Considering Sterling downed tools himself for about 5 months for us, it would be unfair to write Balotelli off fully when he was criminally messed about by Rodgers. Obviously, Balotelli doesn't help himself, but we barely tried with him.

I'd like to keep him for another year. His price will never be lower and we'll have to pay his wages any way. He might be able to contribute and improve his price tag the following year. He's been a useful option off the bench at times.

We owe him ten million. If we do a deal where we come out without it costing us another penny we should consider it.

If he goes for less than £7mill then we have to have 50% sell on clause just in case the mad bastard does end up moving on to bigger and better things. Otherwise fuck off the deal if they're not happy with that

Agree, thought this last season. The one and only game he played with studge he looked decent (Spurs away). However, after out summer signings, the only game time he'll get is back in Serie A

It's usually about now in the summer where people tend to forget what happened on the pitch then previous year and start getting all romantic about players.

Watch, it'll happen with this hapless cunt soon enough. People will start giving it to the whole 'yeah but there's talent in there if we can get it out of him / i'd def keep him as back up option / remember that one fucking game where he and Sturridge clicked.'

Sell the fucking useless bag of shite.

Agree we should sell. Just felt they last season when we were shite, he should have got more game time as a option.

What an absurdly weird post. Trying to show intelligence by pretending you have precognition when all you have done is read what others have said and repeated it.

You seem to be weirdly fascinated with me of late.

I noticed you didn't have much of a comeback after I made a mess of your post in the 'Benteke' thread. So now you're trying your luck in here on the back of a nothing discussion frankly.

Can't we just be friends Lucas?

Not a fascination. I didn't bother with a reply because you weren't changing your mind and I thought that a few other posters made it quite clear that they had a similar point of view.

I genuinely enjoy reading your posts about football. I've learned quite a bit off them also. And the geek in me loves the detail with which you use to explain concepts you obviously have a great understanding of. You're an invaluable part of this site and improve it no end.

I'll stop replying to the posts where you are being sanctimonious. I don't wish to bother you.

I want him gone yesterday. We have to sell him for less than 7 mill so he can stay on the same wage level in his new club. Either that or we pay half his wages for the next 3 years or so.

The boy is bad for moral. He needs special treatment. It goes against everything we're trying to build.

He must go no matter the cost.

See? Friends.

He was shite last year and a bit of a twat. But that applies to about 95% of our squad so if we're giving them another chance, I will give Mario one. Provided he is given a decent run - which he won't be. It's irrelevant anyway because he will be loaned to FC Calcio Sardinia and we will be paying them for the privilege for three years.

waste if time, we would have been better off loaning Falcao for the year and paying him £250,000 a week

anything for him is good, just getting him to leave without forking out any more than we received would be brilliant

Kinda like the way you were when we signed him right?

Ballertelli if I remember correctly.

United paid £6m for the loan and the diff in wages (if ballo is on £100k/week) would equate to approximately an additional £8m so Ballotelli will have only cost us £2M more but has a resell value of £7M.

Both were totally fucking useless last season

Apparently Bologna are also interested:

"I would take him," Pantaleo Corvino told Corriere dello Sport today, making Bologna the second club—following Sampdoria—to have publicly suggested they're interested in the striker. "He would be highly motivated here. Of course we have to respect that as a club we have certain financial parameters. But for the right price, I would even consider the possibility of buying him outright."

Falcao however would have suited the way we played 100x more than Balo. He'd probably have been a success here and we'd have got 4th.

I don't think you'll find many beyond me who are content with keeping him for another year. If we do get a decent offer, like Ross says, where we can get out of paying his wage then we would be wise to take it, but I do feel there is some logic in him staying beyond blind romanticism. If Rodgers is going to adapt the teams game to accommodate Benteke then it seems to me that this would suit Ballotelli coming off the bench. Neither Ings or Origi have impressed me enough to convince me there should be the first sub on at this stage.

Having said that, I do expect him to be sold. The club are actively trying to force him out.

Am I missing something here, he was slow, lacking in confidence and couldnt hit a barn door any time I watch him play last season, he was exactly like Balotelli but with a better haircut

He's nothing like Balotelli. Falcao is lethal in the box when fit (remember he was coming back from injury and was in and out of the team), which his record proves, and Balotelli is physically allergic to being anywhere near the box.

Like I said - "Both were totally fucking useless last season"

I didn't know they paid £6m for the loan also, mad

like Charlie Sheen said I don't pay prostitutes for the sex, I pay them to go away afterwards... we're stuck with Mario
