Bizarre.

The Brazil international, who completed a £29 million switch to Anfield from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015, is understood to have a €98 million (£82 million) release clause in his contract.
It states Firmino can be purchased for the aforementioned price “if the interested club is not Arsenal”.
 
I don't understand this at all.

Ignoring the fucking ludicrous buy-out figure that nobody would ever pay, why "not Arsenal"?

Seems rather small-time to me. If the club's still arse-hurt about that ridiculous £40m and £1 Suarez bid, just do what they did then; tell them to fuck off.

Having it written down seems pointless and petty.

Meh - it would have been so much better if it stated "If the interest club is not Arsenal, if it is Arsenal the release clause is £40m + Luis Suarez"

Now that's Banter Clause.
 
Is presumed the title was a play on Santa Claus due to Christmas being around the corner.
