giving hodgson longer than a year is idiocy and the fa have made the exact same mistake. ten bucks says hodgson doesn't survive past the world cup meaning they have to pay him off for the remaining 2 years.

The accounts aren't available just yet.

If only we knew what the intentions were 'going forward'. I don't think Ian Ayre mentioned that enough.

Its not unlikely, the money spent on the stadium planning might have been counted as an asset and since we dont plan to go ahead with it that planning is now worthless so has to be written off. It's the rest of the loss that should be the concern. It shows nothing had really changed, we were still over spending and under performing.

So much can be learned about the future possibilites from reading the accounts, and ignoring the media.

How can planning cost be that much when the design has been rejected? Ridiculous.

Duedil.com provides online Companies House data and is completely free, has financial info for LFC going back to 2002, so you can track exactly how the clubs accounts have progressed.  I imagine it will be updated asap

Indeed. How can it be ? I drink with another fan who's a top architect and there's no way such design work should amount to that. Further question would be is how did Hicks and Gillett end up spending so much of the clubs money on such an activity?

My experience with developers and construction firms and consultant engineers and architects run counter to such a cost being spent without a single spade work onto the ground.

You can blame Henderson for a lot, but not anything that happened at LFC pre 31st July 2011

Ha, so not in the slightest bit obvious to some. To quote this architect "if they'd have said that work had cost £10m I'd say they've been ripped off. So essentially we either overpay for players AND architects or £25m has disappeared down a rather dubious black hole....

Given that this doesnt cover the huge transfer outlay of last summer we are probably looking at similar numbers for next year arent we, there is no way on earth FSG will continue to subsidize the club to the tune of 50 million a year

    Thanks Irish Red

that is the most informative read and in depth analysis on LFC finances I have read - mods this deserves a thread on its own. Looks like we are not doing too bad finacially although the wage bill is truly shocking - and Rafa although much maligned on here overperformed on the resources provided to him.

£120k per week for Joe Cole. That is £6.5m out of last years wage bill alone.

    Interesting article.
Almost £200m wasted by the club thanks to the two cowboys.
That is more than half a team of Andy Carrolls. ;)

Read the other day that Purslow did some cleverishthings with the sign on fees when he was here.
The sign on fees was apperantly added to the weekly wages, which means that in Cole's first year he had a staggering wage.

    God we've been stupid...

"The Times" on Saturday has a Statto-type column where they regularly measure such things, and Rafa always came out near the top.
