2 of the 3 first round fights in the Boxing Super-Six take place this weekend. Froch vs Dirrell and Abraham vs Taylor.

Tyson Fury is also on the Froch undercard.

Is the Froch fight not on telly in the UK? I cant find it listed anywhere?

Scrap that, found the ridiculous answer.

It's only on Sky, on a new PPV venture called Primetime. Just signed back up to LiveOnlineFooty cos they usually show the boxing.

Horrible home decision that.

Not the harshest, but not really the fairest either. Dirrell should have won, but I think Froch's constant aggression helped him win that.

I had Dirrell up by a couple of rounds. I think Dirrell's holding and running may of went against him with the judges. Froch has Kessler and Abraham next...2 very big tests for him.

Abraham's KO of Tyalor was brutal, the guy can really bang !

Just seen the Abraham v Taylor fight, and i wasn't disappointed.

Poor old Taylor was sleeping before he hit the deck.

I agreed with Froch in his post fight interview.
You can't expect to become a champion with such a negative performance.
Froch brought it constantly and I think that coupled with the fact he is the champ, swung it for him.
That said, Dirrell's reactions and foot speed were top class.

Quigley vs Smith on Friday. I bet there will be a great atmosphere in the Echo arena for this all-scouse clash. Should be a real scrap.

Not the best fight, I was please Smith won though.

That was a disappointment, Rogan had to retire due to an injuried neck.

Good fight up to that point, think it was between the 7th and 8th when he called the ref over.

Thought id try give an update of upcoming fights:

March 6:
Alexander - Urango

March 12:
Smith - Dodson

March 13:
Pacquiao - Clottey

March 20:
W.Klitschko - Chambers

March 27:
Abraham - Dirrell

April 3:
Haye - Ruiz
Hopkins - Jones

April 17:
Pavlik - Martinez

April 24:
Froch - Kessler
Ward - Green
Arreola - Adamek

May 1:
Mosely - Mayweather

May 15:
Khan - Malignaggi (in talks)

May 22:
Vasquez - Marquez

A fight with either Klitschko should be great. Both Haye and Wladimir have suspect chins and I know it's the old cliche but any heavyweight only needs one punch.

Oh dear:

Evander Holyfield stopped Frans Botha in Las Vegas on Saturday to claim the lightly-regarded World Boxing Federation heavyweight title.
The 47-year-old knocked down Botha, 41, in the eighth round and although the South African beat the count the fight was stopped soon after.
Afterwards Holyfield, fighting for the first time since December 2008, vowed to seek more title fights.
"I'm going to be the undisputed world heavyweight champion," he said.
Holyfield had been behind on two judges' cards 67-66 when referee Russell Mora halted the bout, while the third judge had it 69-64 for Holyfield.
But the veteran drew on his resources to land a big blow and he is confident he can emulate George Foreman, who was 45 when he regained the world heavyweight title 15 years ago.
Holyfield, who lost a majority decision to Nikolay Valuev in his previous contest, said he would now like to fight one of the Klitschko brothers, who hold three of the four major heavyweight belts.
The 'Real Deal' began his career at light-heavyweight and is a former world champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.
He beat Foreman in 1991 in his first defence of the undisputed heavyweight crown he won by overcoming James 'Buster' Douglas.

He actually got a raw deal in the Valuev fight, but still. Give it a rest, man. Getting tanned by James Toney seven years ago should have been the final straw.

Ha ha.

Always lovely when a chin waver gets lit up. I remember the look of shame on James Toney's face when he engaged Roy Jones in a bit of jaw waving, and Jones snatched his chin. Flash knockdown, but embarrassing nonetheless.

I never took to Froch as I thought he was far too cocky for his own good.
But in defeat the other night he was gracious and humble, even though I have read he was ripped off. Fair play to him, he's gone up in my estimation.
