BR: Congratulations to England and all the home nations for the results they got and their performances.

BR: It’s been grossly unfair how Sterling has been put in the back pages for something he clearly didn’t say.

BR: He’s back here in a secure environment. The last week shook him a wee bit but he was brilliant in training this morning.

BR: I take pride in players playing for their countries. I see it as an earmark for how we’re developing our players.

BR: Liverpool is very much club and country, not club vs. country. I will continue to work for all nations and all our players to progress.

BR: Me and Roy Hodgson have exchanged messages, but we want to put this to bed. Sterling is a huge talent, we all want him to do well.

BR: Roy’s a manager with great experience. All managers will deal with different situations differently. I won’t make comment on that.

BR: I spent 15 years traveling around Europe looking at different methods so that I have an identity as a coach. My morals is to make...

BR: …players better. The nature of my game is to be aggressive, to press, at speed. So the recovery of players is different.

BR: Our “second day recovery” is very important. It may be swimming, the key is intensity and density. I determine the training model.

BR: My methods have always worked for me with all players. Our senior players were able to play every game for a long time.

BR: I’m not waiting to read a thesis in 10 years time with the evidence. We’re at the leading edge here, we create the evidence.

Dunno about that bit though, density?

He will likely mean volume... e.g. you would want it to be low intensity e.g. HR circa 60% Max for a prolonged period for ultimate recovery - might be 45-60 minutes... If you're in a busy period you might drop this down.

Active recovery is a pretty common thing these days in athletics so makes sense that in a game where you are requiring your players to be more like endurance athletes that you take concepts from those areas.

It means more exercise in a smaller period, come on guys, I've exercised twice in my life and know that.

How awful of Hodge to throw Raheem under the bus like that - as just a pawn in his piss ant game.

The state of Brendan's teeth

Mixing yer metaphors. Is he a pawn? Is he an ant? Has he been thrown under a bus? WHAT'S THE FUCKING CRAIC?

Awfully pedantic of me I know, but, he didn't say:
"I’m not waiting to read a thesis in 10 years time with the evidence. We’re at the leading edge here, we create the evidence."

He said:
"I’m not waiting to read a thesis in 10 years time to give me evidence, we are at the leading edge of the game, we need to be creating the evidence ourselves."

Less arrogant, but just as excellent. I think he has blown Hodgson out of the water with his handling of this fiasco.
Actually Hodgson has practically sunken himself.

Was Woy ever in the game?

The old tw@t's remaining friends in the media are still at it though. Apparently the "Express" sports page has a headline this morning asking "Whose fault is it now?"

Can't wait to see what happens next time Hodgson comes to Anfield to watch a match. He'll get hammered.
