Sissoko and Xhaka both struggling at their respected clubs. Is it down to management or were they flash in the pan players?

Sissoko was a fair weather player at the Toon and Xhaka's game consists primarily of trying to physically overpower opposition players. They've both been found out in the upper reaches of the Prem.

Sissoko is shit, and Xhaka looks like a walking red card. I'd take the latter if he could somehow be reigned in.

I never wanted sissoko, i dont think id ever really seen xhaka prior to his move, hes looked pretty decent at times, maybe he just needs a manager to decuntify him?

Were we interested in either ?

We've got quite a few real bullets dodged though.

Marveaux who went to Newcastle.
There was that massively embarrasing episode where Rafa wanted to sue United for not selling an over the hill Heinze to us.

Clint Dempsey
Shaun Wright Phillips ...

Memphis Depay ?

Is Xhaka really struggling (beyond his usual disciplinary problems)? A genuine question; I haven't watched Arsenal lately, but I thought he scored a couple of great goals earlier in the season and looked a player.

Xhaka is young and was very good for Gladbach. Bit early to tell if its a bullet dogded or not. The fee however look a bit much.
Same can be said for Mustafi and Perez's fee aswell mind.

Sissoko - a definite yes.

Xhaka - not sure. He had a great reputation in Germany and I dont know if Wenger's tactics are bringing out the best of such players.

Heinze was a right has-bean.

Mikael Silvestre.
I'm fairly certain we wouldn't have signed Henchoz if we got him.
Hyppia had just signed in May and Houllier was fairly upset when United nicked Silvestre from under his nose.
Don't think that 5 trophy season would have happened if we signed him.
Although the E.T headed prick scored a few goals against us.

Did Rafa have a Kenwyne Jones chase at one point ?

And Hodgson with James Beattie rings a bell.

Sigurdsson? Might be the one that got away. We were linked to him before he went to Spurs. He was shit at Spurs mind.

Don't mind him even now. Puts in a shift and we will have our dead ball situations sorted. Sign sign sign!

What happened to that die hard Liverpool fan scando wunderkind with a father/agent that repeatedly claimed how he wants to be careful and pick smart career choices for his kid, then sold him to Madrid?

SC Heerenveen[edit]

On 10 January 2017, Dutch club SC Heerenveen confirmed that Ødegaard had joined them on loan for 18 months.[44][45] He made his Eredivisie debut four days later in a 2–0 home win over ADO Den Haag, replacing Arber Zeneli in the last seconds. After the game, he spoke to Fox Sports about how he was pleased with his new surroundings.[46]

He's not getting great reviews at Heerenveen. Apparently he's a very good player but not really that suited to the team at all. He's not been there long though so it may well change.
