I don't normally do these threads but I'm all excited. I'd swap Lovren for Sakho if fit and probs drop Sterling for Sturridge.

I'm half shitting myself about this one. I guess it's because so much progress has been made in the past couple of months and we've just seen the best game at Anfield in ages... The expectation just grew a bit....Imagine we'd beat the chavs and were six points behind them instead of twelve. We'd win this league.

Ah well.

Rodgers has already suggested Sturridge is likely to play so that would mean one of Lallana, Sterling or Coutinho missing out. We could move Sterling to RWB in place of Markovic I suppose.................

I'd guess Sterling would be the one to miss out as he played the full minutes vs City and Besiktas

I'd be taking a small risk with this game, give Sterling and Sturridge a break, and bring them on with 20/30 minutes to go if we need them.

Coutinho, Lallana and Henderson should have enough between them to win this.

Either Sterling or Lallana will drop to the bench if Sturridge starts.
Sterling would be my choice after 120 mins on Thursday and 90 mins vs City.

Other than that same team as Sunday, bar Sakho in if he's fit for Lovren.

I have a feeling we'll draw this. This is a kind of game we can easily stumble unless we take our opponents 100% seriously. Judging by Rodgers' presser, he does take them seriously, but will the players? We're prone to complacency sometimes. The mental and physical fatigue might be a factor too, don't expect anywhere near the same level of performance as the City game.

I'd prefer to give Sterling a break for the Blackburn game.

Sturridge looked sharper and more decisive in his cameo against City than he'd looked in the two games prior. I'd definitely want him to start this game and get a few goals to get him going again. He can get his rest against Blackburn.

Yep, this is a concern. Burnely wont leave as much space for us to exploit either.
Even though they haven't picked up that money points they're hard to beat and have played really well in several games. A 1-1 draw at the Bridge is a good result and they played Utd of the park in the first half at OT.

Need to be at our best and concentrated. If we can continue our latest revival of form I think our movement, pace and passing will be to much for them. But it will be a tight game.

I constantly worried about this last season, thinking we'd get complacent, but we kept winning, someone in the club, be it the players or the manager, knew how to keep our focus and deal with the pressure. A big bonus from last season for us is that our players and the manager will know what that pressure is like. We need to maintain this title winning form of the last few months to make the top four, hopefully we can lean of the experience of last season to do that.

Burnley are currently in their worst form of their season and we are in our best. There is no way at all that BR will allow them to take Burnley for granted but there is also no way at all that Burnley should be taking points off us with the way the lads are playing. They will be full of confidence after City and a couple of days rest.

I'll go for 2-0 (but that's only because I don't want to tempt fate ... I actually think it's about time we walloped someone and that Studge gets back to scoring).

They played us off the park at Turf Moor too. We were all sorts of blessed to get a win that day.

I'm not having any of this potential banana skin bollocks.

The way we're playing (and the way they're playing) we'll get ahead early and destroy Burnley. Sturridge to find his form again with a hat-trick.

5-0. Lets boost the goal difference.

I would like to see Sterling get some minutes at RWB whether he starts there or not. With Ibe out, we need another player with pace and trickery to unlock defensive teams.

Flanno and Johnson are options there too, but would be good for Sterling to get some minutes and get used to that role in this team.

I disagree. I think Sterling's days at RWB are over. He is our joint top scorer AND joint top assist man, no one else in the team comes close. You don't waste his energy running up and down the flank; there are others who should do this for him now.

Hendos comments after the City game suggest so

agreed, no Sterling on wings pls. Rest him and you have Markovic or even Manquillo for that

Is GlenJo broken? If not play him. If Stevie's fit then he can replace whichever of Hendo / Allen are most knackered. Studge starts, Sterling on the bench

I don't think there's any scenario I'd go with playing Johnson from the start.

I think they gave the credit for the mindset to Dr. Peters.

Can't see us not going for this. Sterling vs Lallana is a bit of a toss-up, but other than that, if everyone in that group above is fit, then that's our best team right now with the available personnel. I really fancy Sturridge to score in this game.

GlenJo - No thank you. Stevie - No thank you.

We are out of the EL and just have a possible 3 matches in the FAC to squeeze into the schedule - from now on it should be our strongest team for every match unless a player is showing signs of fatigue (which Sterling is).

That's true but we have just played 4 games back to back.

I'm suggesting resting a few key players and bringing in two England Internationals

.... that are just back from injury and were in poor form before their injuries.
