Why the need to close original thread? Maybe we should start a 'Stay Stay Kenny' thread.

If we win on Saturday we need several stay stay Kenny threads as he would be well deserving it 2 cups in first full season not many have that on their c.v.'s .

Probably because it turned into a Henderson thread

Not many have Liverpool's worst Premier League record in almost 60 years on their CV either.

Probably cause we have a Cup Final coming up on Saturday which if it was the case is fair enough.

Despite the shitfest in the league I'm really looking forward to the weekend. Its these kinda games that make it all worthwhile.

Edit: I was replying to Fabio's post

Two thing that aren't mentioned that often with regards to Kenny's management.

1. We didn't play in Europe and had the advantage of playing less games than many of the teams that are ahead of us in the league, especially in the first half of the season.

2. His persistence in playing underachievers like Downing and Henderson instead of Maxi and Aurelio.

Yeah. Thats a new one to me.

No one is happy with our league season. But the same posters keep posting the same shit.
We KNOW hes played poor players. We KNOW our signings werent good. We KNOW we havnt scored enough goals.
But we could win two trophies here. That should buy a manager another year. I think it would be criminal to sack a manager who has taken us to Wembley twice in a year and given us our first trophy in half a decade.
It hasnt been good in this his first year in charge and yet we can be double winners. The lack of patience being shown is astounding not least because of who this man is.

Personally I think Chelsea will beat us on Saturday, but I will still want Kenny here next season.
You dont quit on a man like that without letting him have a chance to win his stake back. i'll be deeply saddened if we pull the trigger now without giving the man a second season.

Nothing would make me happier if Kenny suddenly gets it right, but I just don't see it happening.
Like the author of that post that made you "belm" said, he just isn't getting it right tactically.
Do you trust him to get the right players in the summer?
Let's say he does, he still has to get them to win on the pitch.
One more league season like this and I think players like Suarez will start considering their future.

Agreed.

if kenny learns from the mistakes of this season then this season would have served it's purpose.
Really means: if his signing come good.

Best chance of that happening Carroll. He need to be what we thought he was a 6 foot 3 beastly monster taking names and banging goals. He can do it. Or we're fucked. Kenny will buy a midfielder hopefully. He's doing a great job with Sterling.

This is probably one of the most unnecessary worry of all time, typed out to get others to think life is a diaster.

Think about it. How many PL players stay with their teams irrespective of the league position or how many trophies have been won. Then think again about the number of players that have left very very successful clubs after winning the PL and many cups?

I don't know what you're getting at but with regards to this club, I'm thinking of McManaman, Owen, Mascherano and Torres. I'm still not sure why Alonso left.
I'd also add Gerrard who was one CL trophy away from leaving. Maybe even Reina who was flirting with Arsenal.
Regarding Man U the prominent players who left were either on Slur Alex's shit list or they'd already achieved everything they could achieve with the club, like Ronaldo. World player of the year, multiple league titles, CL title and an Fa cup title.

Gerrard was 30k a week away from leaving, not a CL trophy away. And that's according to his own book.

Players come and go, if we were better at scouting and decision making it wouldn't be a worry.

Oncy has a point. We all know the short comings. Some of the signings aren't working out. Some might in the future. tactics haven't been great. But on a different day we might have murdered those teams.
But then again it is a forum. So it'd be pretty boring if we didn't argue about it.
A lot of it depends on sat for me. But if he gets next season and things start out poor then the tension will be intense cuz I can't see another cup run saving him.

Despite a really lacklustre season at home (our away tally this season measures against anyone, let's remember), I don't think Kenny is as far from getting it right as some people think. Yes, some of his signings have really been unsuccessful, and we are still lacking some really clever attacking players but I think tactically he has done what he wanted to do. Get Liverpool playing a pass-and-move possession dominating game. The stats show we've had more possession in the oppo half than any other team in the league, and bar City have had more shots than any other team. We've dominated so many games that we haven't killed off it is untrue. Those who have him pinned down as some tactically naive 'cheerleader' are talking utter shite. Kenny, no doubt aided by Clarke, have won a number of key tactical battles in huge games against Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Utd, and this 'cheerleader' bollocks is frankly out of order. As Barca's recent fall shows even a brilliant possession/ passing game can fall against park the bus teams if you don't take your chances. We haven't, and more worryingly, I don't think we have the personnel who are ever going to convert enough chances.

And so where the naysayers are right is in saying that Kenny has bought badly. Downing is not good enough, Carroll doesn't score enough and doesn't actually seem fitted to the manner of game Kenny wants to embed in the club, Henderson seems like a lot of money for what we've got. Everywhere there aren't enough goals in the team, or enough magicians to unlock the door. Kenny will surely be looking to bring that element to the team. I think we should trust him to get it right.

ahh Niall, ever reliable. Something like that middle sentence is well out of place in Moo's world of constantly craving to let us know how shite our league season is.

Did you know he wants rid of Kenny? I thought you might of failed to notice him reminding us on the occasions he posts (after every defeat).

I personally think alot of people are taking this stance in spite of who he is. I know there shouldn't be room for sentiment, but I swear some are almost willing him to fuck up to prove their own petty arguments. There will be some sore cunts on here 'if' we win the trophy on Saturday. They'll have to wait a whole week before they can have a moan again.

A lot of good points there doc. Another point that I think has people worried is how well we played those first 4-5 months Kenny was in charge. Then that summer came. The way we bought meant we completely changed the way we played. And it hasn't really worked. So instantly it seemed we went backwards.

Mark, this is exactly the kinda post that gets up people's backsides and polarises views

What Liverpool fan isnt looking forward to another cup final? Seriously are you for real with this?

We have just lost another home game in the league to a team we should be beating, experimental side or not and are on course for one of worst points haul in premiership history this after spending over £100 million

The biggest complaints have always been around our poor league form/poor signings/lack of goals.

Cup wins could be the stepping stones to future success or could be papering over the cracks? This is all part of the debate.

But to suggest fans of this site "willing him to fuck up to prove their own petty arguments" is bang out of order.

is it bollocks. When the same posters have absolutely fuck all positive to say and rear their heads at predictable opportunities but are rarely seen any other time, it makes me wonder if theyre either on a windup or just revel in putting the boot in. And again, I'm not expecting people to not be critical, it's the monotinous nature of the same posters. And as stated in the thread, it's not just me picking up on it.

lol... like Moo doesn't polarise views

it's human nature. when things are going to plan I think you are less inclinced to go on about it as apposed to venting your views if things are going tits up. just look at the match threads and how many pages it gets to when we win compared to when we lose.
