The lad on Twitter (Jay something) that gets most things right says Can is being benched continually cos he's a lazy shite in training.

No effort, poor attitude, and as such can't be trusted in games. Hence why Brodge has him getting some pine-time.

So, next time there's a moan about him not starting, remember that. Shite attitude in training is the most frustrating thing. If Brodge is benching him cos of that then I'm fully supportive.

If more germans were lazy maybe we would have averted ww2, im not saying Cans the next hitler but.....

How weird. I was thinking to myself that he looked quite meh about proceedings when he was about to come on last night.

That said, it could all be bollocks.

Hope so because without work ethic it doesn't really matter matter how much talent he has.

It makes sense given he has barely featured since his performance against Chelsea. It's a shame because there is enough talent there and he is the sort of player we have needed during this poor spell of form. It's disappointing all round and it's hard to see him making it here if true. Hopefully he gets his act together soon.

I've had this lingering concern about him for a while actually. There's a bit of me-time about ole Emre. He's too clean, too polished, and too fucking airy-fairy. The cunt's built like a brick shithouse, but he's got some real vagina about the way he strolls round the park.

I still hold him accountable for the first goal conceded away to Madrid.

If he was as good as he thinks he is, he'd be a world beater.

Well he certainly hasn't looked fit since he arrived here. When he has played, he's been blowing hard and looking over at the bench after the hour mark. It's a pity because he's got talent, but something's not right. As for laziness, though - isn't the transfer committee supposed to check that kind of thing out before signing players??

I was looking forward to him coming on then he did look very casual.

Could also be that his training has gone to shite because Rodgers doesn't always seem to reward good performances with starts.

I stopped following that Jay on twitter when he was going on about a polo shirt that Mascherano was wearing and saying it should at least be an Armani or Hugo Boss one. The tweets about Stella were a bit wank as well. So were all the ones that had shite made up info.

For me, he's looked lazy since the word go. However, he's also looked imperiously talented. And he in theory could play in the position that requires the least running and the most thought. I'm all for making the show of it to him to try and kickstart him being a little more hard working. But at the end of the day, if he can't improve his drive, I'd still try him because

Shit attitude in training is frustrating but I'm sure Hendo looks fantastic in training too as does Allen but I know who I'd rather give a run of games too at the moment. If he does on the pitch then really that's all that matters

He's never looked the same player for us as he did for Leverkusen, where he was strong and athletic but also very mobile. For us he's always looked really built but slightly unwieldy. At first I thought he's just put a bit too much muscle on and the club would sort him out, but it's been months now, and stories like this do make you wonder.

He wasn't like this in Germany, though, so why he'd be ok there but not here is something I'd question.

Wasn't this brought up a while back before he joined us? Hyypia or somebody said he had all the talent in the world but needed to sort out his mentality.

Nice reference.

DJ Jazzy Jeff (I know) has got a great song sampling that interview.

Wasn't that comment from Jay in reference to the training during pre season?

Either way, true or not. He was one of the better performers against Chelsea and hasn't played since. That's insane.
Looking off pace vs Bournemouth could be a result of not being involved for 5 weeks aswell.

He like Markovic could have been handled differently.

I'm sure he has fitness problems and possibly is also taking an unexpectedly long time to get used to the pace of the game, but I'm more inclined to believe Sami than some twitter twit when it comes to his attitude:

Hyypia said: "Emre is one of those players that always gives 100 per cent on the pitch. He is a very dynamic player and he is quite mature physically as well.

"He is quite a technical player and he does the simple things perfectly, with 100 per cent concentration, and I think he will have a great career at Liverpool.

"With the work ethic he has, I know the Liverpool fans will love him. He needs to make this next step forward in his career and Liverpool is a great club for him to continue to improve.

"He's also very skilful and he can play it very simple. I think he suits the Liverpool style of play and physically he can compete in the Premier League for sure.

"I was very happy for him to see him sign for Liverpool and I'm looking forward to watching him in the Premier League."

I reckon Markovic has been handled expertly. You're still right - he could have been handled differently. Thankfully he wasn't.

Lazar had looked muck every chance he was given with the cameo against city being the exception. He was out of the spotlight for a while, got a short chance again, looked good and was then given a much bigger opportunity. I'm not unhappy with how he's been managed - just disappointed it took him a while (and a red card) to settle in sufficiently.

Agree with that goal in Madrid 100%. Commented on it at the time - he ambled back after losing the ball and then, when it looked like he was going to get back cause they'd slowed their attack, he broke into a walk. They promptly scored and I couldn't fit through the screen on my laptop to throttle him.
