If 8 or 9 players come in then if 5 are a success you've done well. Last time under Kenny it affected the players from the previous season more than the new arrivals. Some were dropped, sold or went to the bench.

Borini : BR told him he was bought for his energy and that he can play across the front - but not to lead the line (Carra says he's not the type that can replace Studge) not for his goal scoring prowess or power. Not a Dirka but that type of player.

BR will be looking at his best 5-6 players and keep them in the team, week in week out, CL or no CL. It is the strikers and wide midfielders that will be rotated more.

Suarez - toward the end of the season he was tired/frustrated. "I felt he was fatigued'.

Liverpool don't get bargain transfers - which is just one reason why the Remy medical failure is a big loss.

Mentally difficult for young players to play 3 games a week. Especially when they personally have just had a bad game.

We are going to have a couple of poor runs in the PL where we will be thinking 'we miss Suarez' this is the difficult time to overcome.

Buying Youth : it's not just Brendan, it's the committee.

I expect Flanno to start the season in the team, Lovren too and maybe Markovic.

I'm glad Liverpool have signed Lovren. GKers and CBs don't get an opportunity so we needed experience. No point in bringing in young CBs as #4 CB as they will never get a game since keepers and CBs are almost never subbed off.
Sami was playing at Oldham at 21 yrs old - managers will not give youth a chance in that position because you make a mistake and it's a goal. Houllier moved me out to RB because he felt I was too young to play CB.
United are the same, Jones & Smalling were never given a run at CB (which they bought them as) when they were first brought in.

I agree that Liverpool shouldn't be going out spending big money on yong CBs. Bringing them through from the youth team is the way to go and then send them out.

We need 3 CBs and one utility who can play CB. Wisdom did well at Derby, Kelly too. However you always feel a young player will make a mistake at CB, as I did myself.

On Lovren : *interviewer says "you talked him up big on Twitter"*. Thought he was outstanding at Liverpool and at OT. I was very impressed with him for 6-7 games. Not at Spurs where he made a mistake. There are not enough players who are willing to fall-out with your own players on the pitch, Lovren will, Suarez was like that too. The England team is like that too. You need to win as a team.

We were shocked when Liverpool paid £16m for Sakho and £20m for Lovren but that's what you've got to pay nowadays.

Sanchez to London : The wives are an influence and London is a big draw but Arsenal are a big team too.

Punditry : I love it. I like to analyse games and trying to find something others haven't seen. I can't wait to see United with this 3 at the back. Liverpool vs Chelsea was a brilliant game to analyse last season. I want to spark a debate otherwise it gets boring if it's the presenter 'asking this guy a question then asking that guy a question' and sometimes they don't really understand football.

I was never offered a role coaching at Liverpool, I told BR 12 months earlier I was finishing (I almost jacked it in halfway through the season). I don't think I'd ever move home so that reduces my coaching chances.

Interviewer : "Would you take 84 points if given it now" ? Carra - Yes. I would take that after losing Suarez and with the CL

Fav. Merseyside Derby : the Macallister.

Interviewer : " When your shot hit the bar in your last match did you think it was going in "? No ! If it had I would have walked right off !

Would you take 84 points if given it now?

Is there really anyone that would say no to that? it's like getting asked if you would like a blow job off Jessica Alba.

The question probably implied that 84 points wouldn't win us the league, but will get us CL next season.
So would he take a top 3 or should we be aiming higher.
