Barcelona vs Bayern
Juventus vs Real Madrid

Ties to be played 5th and 6th May.
 
Would've been better if Barcelona drew Juve to guarantee either a Barca v Bayern or Barca v Real final.

Still, will be a cracking final either way and Barca v Bayern will be a very interesting game.

The Italians must be gaining on the premiership's European co efficient?? Think there was a thread on this a while back. England could be in danger of only receiving 3 CL places.

I do agree that it's nice to be able to enjoy the games with the likes of Chelsea etc knocked out.

napoli and fiorentina in the Semi's of the Europa League would be helping their cause too..
 
Yeah, but then we will be aiming for 3rd.

It's here to stay, they are not going back to the old European Cup style.
 
It's not good Sean. It means it would be even harder to receive entry into the Champions League.

Disclaimer; I don't think that finishing 3rd or 4th should be heralded as some sort of achievement.
 
We will be down to 75.5 pts in the Coefficiant.. Moving from 2nd to 3rd

Italy will be up to around 73 pts in 4th

if we have another bad season in Europe for English clubs next season and Italy continue to Excel.. Italy could potentially have 4 places and England 3 places in the CL come the 2016/17 Season
 
I'd rather we had to win the league to be in it. Then try to win the league. Allowing the likes of us to constantly scrap for 4th just means the bean-counters see it as the most important thing. It's not. Winning the tile is. Another reason modern football is wank.
 
Apart from the first Bayern/Porto match I was bored to tears watching all of the quarterfinal matches. It seems as though everything always goes to script once we get to this stage.

As far as I can see this year is the only one of the last five that Italy has scored higher than England, although admittedly the most distant season does carry a heavy advantage for England which will be lost for the calculations for entry into the 2017/18 CL. It's likely there'd have to be 2 more clearly better seasons for Italy after this one before they got our 4th place, and so the earliest likely season we'd lose the 4th position is 2019/20, with qualifying taking place the season before.

I took a year too early off :confused:.. I worked it out earlier adding the extra points for semi finals and averaging it out.... England lose 18 points next season and gain only 13

If Italy have a good season as this season and next and we are as bad for those two seasons 2017/18 season could be the season we are demoted to 3 places..

next season could potentially see a 10 point swing on this season in Italy's favour...
