No thread for this yet. We need a win here and I think after International Break + that pretty frustrating 0-0 vs United we need a couple of sets of fresh legs in the side.

I would like to see:

----------------Karius------------------
TAA----Matip---Lovren---Robertson
---------Hendo---Can-----------------
------------Coutinho-------------------
The Ox----Firmino----Salah-------

I could see a case for Milner or Grujic making that CM trio. I would probably (after United game) rather see Gini & Can, but Hendo won't be dropped as Captain in the CL.

I though Chamberlain looked to have a bit of purpose about him against United, but ultimately didn't have enough chance to make an impact.

Thoughts?

I see no reason why Karius should play, Mignolet is looking alright , play him. Ditto Moreno over Robertson
 
I'd keep the same back four if possible, bring in Milner at DM and Grujic ahead of him. Oxlade-Chamberlain will play judging on Klopp's comments.
 
Agree with that team. Klopp said there will be 1-2 changes, no more.

The Ox deserves a start after his cameo on Saturday. Thought he was very good and Klopp praised him today as well. Its like he could need and needed some time to settle. Shocking I know.

He won't though. Karius is going to start.

I think there's a chance Chamberpot could play, but it will be on the wing if at all, as he's too fucking stupid to play anywhere else.
 
Karius clearly isn't capable of performing at the once every few weeks level, its doing nothing for his confidence and absolutely nothing for the club

It'd be boss, if Klopp gave the same back 5 (gk inc) a run of games, who knows it might even draw out some sort of form?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Re: Chamberpot, im hoping he plays as a forward of sorts to limit his liability and who knows, a goal tonight might just kick start some sort of form...............*clutching*
 
I should have changed my 'i would like to see' to a mix of 'i would like + i think we will see' as I think Klopp has made it clear that #LK1 will start this game.

Klopp has already said that he will only play on the wing for now and not in the middle. Even in training he is playing on the wing. It would be a disaster having him in the middle.

I'd rather not drop Lovren, but he's playing through the pain barrier so it makes sense, even if the alternative is Klavan.

Hes said hes fine now, skipping the first International sorted him , apparently

Klopp also said tonight was not the time for squad rotation, so thankfully no chance that back 5 starts
 
If Karius is anything like he was in Moscow then any shot Maribor can muster has a chance of going in. I don't like this playing the 2nd choice keeper in the Champions League one little bit.
Why bother working so hard to get into the fucking Champions League , then not play you're best team in it. Crazy and If he is going to rest/drop/rotate Mignolet then I'd rather have Ward in there than Karius, the only reason he's getting a game is to justify signing him which is bollocks in my view.

Klavan should be nowhere near the pitch EVER in a liverpool shirt. Awful player. I'd rather give Gomez a go at CB.

I don't particularly want to play him, as I reiterated in my second post. Lovren has had injury problems. Gomez was terrible too previous to the United game, our options beyond Lovren and Matip are dire.
 
Klopp has said there will only be one or two changes from the United team .. one of those is going to be Karius so otherwise the team will be the same. Ox should nbe given a start IMO ... great cameo vs Darmian and for sure the Maribor players are not going to be of a higher quality so it could be a great confidence booster.
 
Lovren said at yesterdays press conference that he is injury free and playing without pain.
Keep the CBs together at least. We need to play the same defence in a few games to get a settled team.
I'd play the same back 4-5 in all honesty.
 
Anyways, I'm just gonna try and enjoy this match. Kinda like catching up with an old mate and you aren't sure if he's going to bore you with how shit work has been or he'll have some ace stories about some bird he's been shagging. The worst case scenario is you went out and had a few pints on a school night.
 
You really think he typed that shit into a watch? I reckon it's got voice recognition. Those voice activated thing give me the fear entirely. Amazon listen all day and never delete anything, and call the cops if you're taking drugs and stuff. I think. Maybe I made that last bit up but it's just not on.

Heh. The echo devices & Google Home devices do listen all the time, but they only record when their trigger word is spoken. You can see a full list of what it's recorded & listen to them too, & delete whatever you want.

In fact, a Google device recently had a bug & constantly recorded it, Google had it fixed within 12 hours of finding out, cos they knew people would be pretty pissed off about it.

I think the Echo Look is a scary idea though. It's not out here, US only so far, but it's an Echo with a camera in, designed for the bedroom, the idea being women (maybe gay men, & Ryan as well) can ask it what their outfit is like & ask for suggestions on clothes, & use an app to see what clothes would look like before buying them.

Not only is it way too ambitious, no AI is that good yet, neither is the AR type tech to overlay clothes onto a photo properly in an instant, & if that's hacked then the hacker is watching you in your bedroom. No thank you.
 
Yeah to be honest, when I'm looking at you and your family through your window I like to be able to smell you too. If anything it's the scent that gets me off. I'm not hearing about any positive moves in that direction.
 
I recently met the guy who wrote Soccernomics in an investment forum about AI. Big data and all that stuff that attracts your Elon Musks and co.

He talks about how technology brings the world closer and connects people and solve problems, yet is in danger of losing the human touch factor.

Kinda like how our hapless data scientist wannabe, Michael Edwards, is in charge of our transfers. That's probably why we are still shit at it and haven't fill the problematic positions that even a five year old could see.

Machines can never replace humans entirely but then again, on second thouhht, maybe we need a few to replace the clowns who run this club.
