Clyne was very good, as was Eric Dier. Henderson played OK, too.

Nobody else really made much of a claim to definitely start the next game, and Henderson and Clyne probably won't either, despite being better than most.

i though Henderson was below average. Decent enough on the ball but he wasted virtually EVERY FK, corner and cross he made, they were simply atrocious.

Most of our best chances came through Henderson, yet half the country berates him, Clyne was by far our best player, yet will get dropped for the vastly inferior Kyle Walker, frustrating.

Not really. Kyle Walker was excellent in both games he played, named Man Of The Match and largely viewed as one of our best players so far.

No doubt he was, but whilst Walker was very good in those first two games, Clyne played even better last night, and importantly he isn't an accident waiting to happen defensively like Walker is. He had a few shaky moments in the first 30minutes against Wales when pressed and in general the offensive side of his game is better than the defensive, my worry is that the better teams we're now due to play will expose those weaknesses. It's harsh on Walker, but Clyne is the better player.

In a nutshell. Walker is better than Clyne at one thing only, namely being plug ugly. Otherwise he's a decent second choice who ought to stay that way.

Was he fuck below average. His dead ball delivery was poor, but he created all of our best openings bar the Dier chipped pass for Sturridge.

Yeh, the national hate campaign against Henderson is laughable, he wasn't his best last night but still thoroughly decent and created pretty much everything, how people have picked him up as the poor performer in that team when Wilshere was on the pitch i'll never know.

Most haven't. In fact almost every single report has scored Wilshere lower, and highlighted him as the worst performer.

He pissed away every FK, corner and cross (long) that he attempted. I base player performances on the number of "oh FFS X" or "great play X" that I utter. The room was blue.

I didn't say he was worse than Wilshere (of course he wasn't), I said he was below his average (which he clearly was - if you waste half of our best chances to get the ball into a dangerous area because of shite delivery). I've already said on the ball he was decent.

Clyne or Walker is neither here nor there. Both good players, not much in it. I'd rather Clyne played because he's ours but if Walker gets the nod, its hardly outrageous stuff is it?

What the heck is '0.5' of an interception? The people who compile these stats are nerdy twats.

Anyway, Clyne was excellent - better than he's been for us in many recent games.

I think in all 3 England games so far, a right-back has been MOM. Which probably explains why England hasn't exactly lit up the Euros (yet).

Not outrageous exactly, but it's a mistake all the same. Now we're past the group stage, small margins are going to count for more and, biased though I certainly am on the subject, the improvement Clyne represents at both ends of the pitch could be crucial.

Exactly. The team selection for the next game will be very interesting and quite hard to call.

Clearly Wilshere has zero chance of making the XI, but maybe Henderson did enough to push for another start? The defence will revert to his first choice, so Rose and Walker back in. Rooney will obviously come back.

I suspect Lallana may be at risk, especially if he tries to get Rooney, Dier, Henderson and Dele Alli into the same midfield. Lallana has been typical Lallana; works hard, creates a lot of smoke without much fire, doesn't score, then gets taken off knackered.

He may be tempted to play Kane and Vardy together, at the expense of Sturridge too. And if he does play Kane, that means Dele Alli will be even more likely to play

Or select the right players and make a hash of the set-up and tactics. Or both.

I think he's toast now anyway. Seems assorted FA bigwigs have lost it with him after the selection for the Slovakia game.
