[article=http://www.werder.de/en/aktuell/news/49811.php]SV Werder Bremen have signed Raif Husic from FC Bayern Munich. The 18-year-old goalkeeper secured a three-year deal with the Green-Whites until 30.06.2017.

Frank Baumann, Director of Football and Scouting, is delighted about Werder's latest coup: "Raif is a very talented goalkeeper and he will have the chance to develop further still with us. Although he is still eligible to play for the Under 19 team, we intend to use him in the Under 23 side and give him the opportunity to train regularly with the first team."

Husic, who made appearances for Bayern Munich's Under 19 and Under 23 teams, is eagerly anticipating him time with the Green-Whites: "It's a really, really great feeling to be here and to have signed my first professional contract. I am very much looking forward to the task with Werder Bremen," commented the young keeper.

Born in Zusmarshausen, Bavaria, Husic began his playing career with FC Augsburg, before making the switch to FC Bayern Munich, where he was in action for the Under 17, Under 19 and Under 23 sides. So far, the keeper has made a total of 89 youth team appearances and played eight ‘Regionalliga Bayern' games for the German all-time record title holders. In addition, Husic earned a place in the German national youth teams, securing a regular spot between the posts for the Under 17 selection.[/article]

[article=http://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/article/louis-laing-signs-for-forest-1651105.aspx]Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of former England youth international centre back Louis Laing.

The 21-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with the option of a further year and will arrive on a free transfer upon the expiration of his Sunderland deal on 1 July.

Born in Newcastle, Laing’s early potential saw him represent England at a number of youth levels. He made his senior debut for The Black Cats towards the end of the 2010-11 season, coming off the bench in a Premier League fixture against Wolves.

He spent time on loan at Wycombe Wanderers the following campaign, making 11 appearances at Adams Park before returning to the Stadium of Light to continue his development.

Laing is now set to learn from the likes of the experienced Jack Hobbs, Kelvin Wilson, Greg Halford and Danny Collins as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.[/article]

Hannover 96 - Miiko Albornoz

[article=http://www.hannover96.com/CDA/index.php?id=11625]Dirk Dufner has been to Brazil to complete the transfer of World Cup defender Miiko Albornoz. The Chile international, born on November 30th 1990 and raised in Sweden, has signed a contract with Hannover 96 until June 30th 2017 following a successful medical.

“Him being called into Chile’s World Cup squad underlines his qualities and his potential. Miiko is a promising, prospective player and we believe that he will strengthen the team at Hannover 96. From our point of view, we feel he brings everything needed to prevail in the Bundesliga,” said Dirk Dufner in Brazil.

Left back Albornoz joins the Bundesliga from current Swedish champions Malmö FF. He celebrated his international debut for Chile at the start of the year and managed to make his country’s World Cup squad. Albornoz had previously featured for several of Sweden’s youth national sides.

Hannover 96 are obviously aware of the fact that the player was the defendant in a criminal investigation. "“I was impressed by how open he was about it. After talks with the player and lots of people who know him well, it’s clear that this was a case of a young person making a mistake, but he has learnt from that,” said Dufner.

Miiko Albornoz will of course finish the World Cup in Brazil with Chile first, followed by a holiday and a regeneration period, before he comes to Hannover. When that will ultimately be is not yet clear. We now have a fourth player at the World Cup that we’ll be crossing our fingers for along with Ron-Robert Zieler, Hiroki Sakai and Didier Ya Konan. Chile’s start with two wins against Australia and Spain has been very promising,” explained Dufner.[/article]

[article]Hertha Berlin has signed Dutch defender John Heitinga on a two-year contract.

The Bundesliga club announced Monday that it had signed Heitinga, who played for relegated Premier League team Fulham last season, on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old defender has played 87 times for the Netherlands but was left out of this year's World Cup squad.

Hertha general manager Michael Preetz says Heitinga is "an internationally experienced defender from whom our young players in particular will benefit greatly."[/article]

Huddersfield - Lee Peltier (free transfer)
pelts2.png

[article=http://www.htafc.com/news/article/first-team-news-lee-peltier-returns-1661256.aspx]Three years after departing, 27 year-old Lee has today joined ‘The Yorkshire Club’, signing a three year contract on a free transfer after leaving Leeds United earlier today.

Peltier, who was Players’ Player of the Season in his debut 2009/10 season at Town, returns to the Club having made 113 Championship appearances during the past three years for Leicester City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.

Lee originally arrived at Town at the start of the ‘New Era’ under Chairman Dean Hoyle, joining from Yeovil Town during the summer of 2009. He made 103 starts for the Club during his two year stay, becoming a pivotal part of the team – largely performing at full back but also in the centre of defence and as a holding midfield player. His last appearance in the blue and white stripes was the 2011 Play-Off Final.

In June 2011, Lee left Town to join Championship promotion favourites Leicester City for a reported fee of £1million, becoming Sven-Goran Eriksson’s first signing as he geared up for a charge to the Premier League. In his single season at the King Power Stadium, he made 40 Championship appearances as the Foxes finished ninth in the table.

‘Pelts’ moved to Championship club Leeds United the following summer and immediately established himself in Neil Warnock’s team, who quickly named him as their Captain.

With former Town Manager Warnock having widely been expected to take over as Nottingham Forest manager, Lee completed an Emergency Loan move to the City Ground in March 2014. Although Warnock ultimately did not follow, Peltier started all remaining seven Championship games as Forest narrowly failed to break into the Play-Offs.

Lee will now join Town on a three year contract, keeping him at the Club until the summer of 2017.[/article]

Peltier is a mad one. Played for the same team as me but a year older when we were kids. Played for some big clubs there. Was always told that he was good, but that there were better players in that team.

Makes me think I should have tried harder!

[article=http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/20140624/stubbs-appointed-head-coach_2262950_3927501]Hibernian today confirmed Alan Stubbs has been appointed the club's Head Coach with immediate effect - taking charge for the forthcoming 2014/15 Scottish Championship season.

Former Bolton, Celtic, Everton and Sunderland defender Stubbs, 42, arrives at Easter Road from Everton where he had been under-21 coach for six years and says he is excited about the challenge ahead.

Stubbs said: "To be given this opportunity with Hibernian is a great privilege and a real honour - it is a massive club with huge potential.
"I'm excited about the future here at Hibernian and what we can all achieve together at the club - this is the start of the journey.

"The Scottish Championship will be a tough division, but I'm confident that if we approach the challenge with enthusiasm, optimism and belief then we can achieve success.

"I've been at Everton for almost six years and now I believe I'm ready to take on the role of Head Coach here at Hibernian.

"I would like to thank Everton for giving me the chance to take up this position with Hibernian and now I just can't wait to get started; helping the club to earn promotion."

Chief Executive Leeann Dempster says she is thrilled to have Stubbs on board for next season and reveals he will play an integral role in the club's new structure.

Leeann said: "There were strong candidates who applied for the position but after much consideration, Alan emerged as the stand-out choice.
"It's important that the CEO and Head Coach are very much on the same page and that they forge a close working and trusting partnership. I spoke with Alan and it became apparent early in the discussions that we had a common goal.

"He is a driven, intelligent and strong-minded character, who has a very clear vision about what he wants to achieve in football - producing positive results, playing attractive football and developing young players.

"All those attributes fitted the criteria we required and we're confident Alan is the right man to unite the club and bring success to Hibernian.

"Alan will be our Head Coach and that is part of the new structure in place at the football club; a continental-style model designed for continued long-term success.

"We would like to place on record our gratitude to Everton for allowing us to appoint Alan; they have been professional in every aspect of the discussion - a testament to how highly they thought of Alan within their own coaching staff.

"Finally we would like to thank our supporters for their patience so far, as a club we can all now look ahead optimistically towards the start of the new season."

Stubbs' first game in charge of Hibernian will be the club's pre-season friendly at Berwick Rangers on Saturday 12 July, kick off 3pm (admission prices, Adults: £10, Concessions: £5).

Hibernian's new Head Coach will be introduced to the media at a conference staged at the Training Centre on Thursday.[/article]

[article=http://brondby.com/nyhed/2014/06/24/elmander-vender-hjem]Former Norwich City loanee Johan Elmander has signed for Danish club Brondby after being released by Galatasaray.

The Swedish international striker scored three goals in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Canaries last season during his season-long loan, but just one of those was in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old former Bolton Wanderers and Toulouse player has rejoined Brondby, who he scored 29 goals for in 81 matches between 2006 and 2008, helping to win a league and cup double in 2005 and being named player of the season.

Elmander has signed a two-year deal with the Copenhagen club, much to the delight of sporting director Per Rud.

“(Johan) is undoubtedly a player from the top shelf,” Rud said, speaking to Brondby’s official website. “Besides having an amazing history with Brondby, Johan Elmander is still an incredibly talented footballer.

“He starred last season in 28 appearances for Norwich in the Premier League, and in the seasons before he has played more than 50 matches for Galatasaray. This does not happen without being physically fit and having a very high energy while playing level.

“In our conversations with Elmander, he has shown great desire to be a part of our project, and we expect that, in addition to raising our team, (he) will have a major impact on building the winning culture of the club and the development of our many young players.

“Similar to Thomas Kahlenberg we (see) Elmander as a carrier of culture at the club. With his vast experience, he will be invaluable for our young squad and the talents that are waiting.”[/article]
