Simone Zaza - West Ham (loan for €5 million with option to buy at €20 million plus add on up to €3 million)
West-Ham-United-Unveil-New-Signing-Simone-Zaza.jpg

[article]West Ham United have added star power to their forward line by signing Italy international striker Simone Zaza.

The 25-year-old forward joins the Hammers for an initial €5m loan fee, with a permanent fee of €20m automatically triggered after a certain number of Premier League appearances this season, plus a further €3m in contingent payments.

The latest arrival takes the Club's spending to more than £60m this summer, with Zaza becoming West Ham’s eleventh signing of a busy transfer window.

The signing again illustrates the Board’s commitment to reinvesting the revenue raised from the Club’s move to London Stadium and building a squad commensurate with those stunning surroundings.

A strong, quick centre forward blessed with powerful aerial ability and a lethal left foot, Zaza arrives in east London after helping Juve win Serie A and featuring for his country at UEFA Euro 2016.

Zaza, who scored Juve’s winner in the Betway Cup win at London Stadium earlier this month, cannot wait to get started under new manager Slaven Bilic.

Zaza said: “I want to thank everyone for welcoming me including the fans and everyone at the Club. I wanted to start a new experience and I feel this is the right choice for me.

“I have been fortunate enough to have already played at the new Stadium with a different shirt. It is a beautiful stadium and I felt the warmth of the fans and this was a big reason why I wanted to join the Club.

“I want to become a better player and I know I can do that at West Ham. Unfortunately we could not qualify for the Europa League, but I am hoping I can help the Club do that next season.”

Capped 14 times by the Azzurri, Zaza was born in Policoro in the far south of Italy, where he started his career with Stella Azzurra Bernalda as a schoolboy.

After four years with Valdera, the left-sided forward made his senior breakthrough with Bergamo-based Atalanta, where he made his first-team debut at the age of 17 in 2009.

Sampdoria moved for Zaza in 2010, and he spent a season in Genoa before being loaned to lower-league Juve Stabia and Viareggio, where he hit the net with increasing regularity.

In 2012/13, the shaven-headed striker pushed himself onto the national stage during a season-long loan spell at Ascoli, where he netted 18 goals in 35 Serie B appearances.

That form saw Serie A newcomers Sassuolo move for Zaza on a permanent basis, and he repaid their faith by scoring the goals which helped the I Neroverdi beat the drop in dramatic style.

The 2014/15 season was even better for both Zaza, who scored eleven Serie A goals, and his club, who finished comfortably in mid-table.

Capped regularly at age-group level by his country, Zaza’s goalscoring and fine all-round play saw him awarded his full Italy debut against the Netherlands in August 2014, scoring his maiden goal on his second appearance against Norway the same month.

An international and former Juventus teammate of West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna, Zaza appeared three times at Euro 2016.[/article]

[article]Newcastle United have completed the signing of United States international defender DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old full-back has put pen to paper on a five-year-contract at St. James' Park and becomes the ninth player to join the Magpies' first team squad this summer.

Yedlin began his career at the University of Akron, in Ohio, before turning professional with Seattle Sounders in January 2013.

After 18 impressive months with the MLS side, he crossed the Atlantic to join Tottenham Hotspur but found game time hard to come by and spent the whole of last season out on loan at Sunderland.

A 39-cap international, Yedlin made his debut in February 2014 and had represented his country at the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Copa America.

"Newcastle is such a big and historic club, and I'm excited to have the honour of playing for them. Hopefully I can do great things here," said Yedlin.

"I'm excited to learn under Rafa Benitez as well. He has an amazing résumé and I know he will help improve me a lot.

"I can't wait to get started."

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez added: "We have known for a little while of Watford's interest in Daryl Janmaat, so it was important for us to bring in a replacement immediately.

"In DeAndre we have a player who knows English football well. He has good experience, an attacking mentality, ability and great pace.

"I think he can do really well for us and will give us good competition on the right."[/article]

[article]Striker Daryl Murphy has become Newcastle United's latest signing, after arriving from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 33-year-old has agreed a two-year contract at St. James' Park and becomes the tenth new face in the Magpies' first team squad this summer.

During five seasons at Portman Road, Murphy scored 67 goals in 225 appearances, with 50 of those coming in the last three seasons.

Previously, the front man had also played for Celtic, Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland, Waterford United, Harrow Borough and Luton Town.

Murphy is also a 23-cap Republic of Ireland international, and featured for his country at Euro 2016.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get it over the line and really looking forward to it," said Murphy.

"When I knew the Club was interested, it was a no-brainer for me so I'm happy it's all done.

"I think with the squad of players that the Club have now, there's no reason why we shouldn't be there or thereabouts come the end of the season."

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez added: "Daryl has experience and has proven that he can score goals in the Championship.

"He gives us another option in attack and we could see from this weekend's game against Brighton that we needed more bodies up front.

"Daryl has a good attitude and he can be very important for us this season."[/article]

Mario Pasalic - AC Milan (loan)
News-pasalic.jpg

[article]From Croatia to AC Milan. A well-trodden path in our history... Welcome Mario Pasalic. Together we will face our next season with even more quality and even more youth. Your contract with AC Milan is a year long: it will be an intense and very important season, for you and for all of us.

"I feel great, I am very proud to be part of this club, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I just got here and now I have some time to adapt to this new reality. All these trophies represent AC Milan’s history. Boban? He is Croatian like I am, I know everything about his career with AC Milan. Also Shevchenko is a player who made the history of the club. Kakà is one of the best players in the world and I stopped in front of his memorabilia because I still remember when he used to play here for AC Milan. My characteristics as a player? I am the classic number 8. I like to play in every position of the pitch, so I’ll play wherever the manager wants me to. We know last season did not live up to the expectations so I want to play because this is a great opportunity for me. I know a lot of players that play in Serie A. My teammates in the U-21 told me Italian football has a lot of tactics, maybe more defensive than the other European leagues. I still haven’t chosen my shirt number; we will see what is available. I have seen plenty of messages on the social medias from the fans and I want to thank them and tell them that I will give everything I have for AC Milan. I hope it will be a great season. Forza Milan".[/article]

- We are delighted that Jores has signed for FCK. He is a player with international skills such as his physics and speed, which makes him a very exciting player. He had a good start to his career in England, before he was unlucky with a serious injury and a club with a lot of problems. Lescott was close to joining Scottish giants Rangers this month but failed to agree personal terms.

The former Manchester City player made 30 Premier League appearances last season, scoring one goal, as the club were relegated to the Championship.

Ha yeah, guess so, even though you could argue that joining the perhaps strongest looking squad on Danish soil in decades and one that has already qualified for the Group Stages in the Champions League is a slight step forward compared to the bottom half of the Championship.

He has got take some giant leaps forward however if he is to fulfill the potential I still believe is there, after a strong start with Villa he broke his leg and got sidelined for more than a year, and then he struggled to become a regular during last seasons mess. Which you could argue is not a good sign.

In short for me however the jury is still out and he could eventually end up in a top club in the Premiership, but time is no longer in his favor I guess as he's not getting any younger. He need to prove himself back in Copenhagen and find his feet once again.

After being reunited with the striker, Pardew added: “Loic has been a target of mine throughout this transfer window and I’m delighted the deal has been done. I brought him to Newcastle so I know what he is capable of and I am convinced he will be a quality addition to our squad as we evolve.

"Loic has international and Champions League experience as well as being a Premier League title winner and is the latest example of the high calibre of players we have brought into the club during this transfer window." [/article]

Nélson Oliveira - Norwich (reportedly €5.9 million)
nelson-oliveira-signs-4x3132-3278660_613x460.jpg

[article]NORWICH City have completed the signing of Portugal international Nelson Oliveira from Benfica on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to approval from the relevant football authorities.

The 25-year-old striker moves to Carrow Road having spent last season on loan at Sky Bet Championship side Nottingham Forest, where he netted nine times in 24 league starts.

He came through the youth system at Benfica, making his debut for the club in October 2011 before scoring in his first Champions League appearance the following March against Zenit St Petersburg.

During his time with the Lisbon outfit, Oliveira had spells on loan to six different clubs, including Forest and Premier League side Swansea City.

He has made 16 senior appearances for his country to date and was part of the Portugal squad that came third at Euro 2012, missing out on selection for this summer’s tournament due to injury.

Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk after completing his move, Oliveira said: "I am very happy and feel very excited about scoring in our great stadium.

"I spoke to Ivo [Pinto] and he told me great things about the yellow fans. He’s a nice guy who I know from Portugal Under-19s and Under-21s so that makes it easier for me.

"It’s a good opportunity to show my ability at a great club that trusts in me. I can promise that I will work hard and do my best to help the team."

City boss Alex Neil added: "It’s a great signing for us because he’s a very good player technically.

"He’ll be a creator of goals as well as a scorer of them. Having been at Benfica, there’s no questioning his quality and he’s played with some top players.

"Nelson now needs to go somewhere and establish himself and this is the perfect place for him to do that."

Chief Executive Jez Moxey commented: "We’re delighted to have concluded this deal to bring Nelson Oliveira to Norwich City.

"It’s a substantial deal for a quality striker who will significantly strengthen our attacking options as we strive towards a successful season - but in an environment where vastly inflated transfer fees and other costs are being quoted and paid for players, especially strikers, we also believe this is a shrewd and sensible transfer for our Club at this time." In the 2014/15 campaign, Bamford scored 17 times in 38 Sky Bet Championship games and went on to be named the divisional Player of the Year.

That season included a notable strike against Manchester City for the highly-rated forward as Boro won 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup.

"I'm delighted and excited to be here," said Mason after completing his move.

"I can't wait to get started and I see this as a massive opportunity for me."

Having progressed through the youth system at Spurs, Mason made his senior debut at the age of 17 before going on to have loan spells with Yeovil Town, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall, Leyton Orient and Swindon Town.

The last two seasons have seen Mason hold down a regular place in the Spurs squad, making 66 appearances in total, and his form led to a first England cap as he came off the bench during a 1-1 draw with Italy in March 2015.[/article]

Wilfried Bony - Stoke City (loan for £2 million)
bony-4x3226-3283250_613x460.jpg

[article]STOKE CITY are delighted to announce the signing of Wilfried Bony on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The Ivory Coast international arrives at the bet365 Stadium with a reputation of being one of European footballs most prolific frontmen - netting 130 goals in just 278 career appearances.

Whilst the vast majority of those goals have been scored on the continent he boasts tremendous Premier League pedigree too, having averaged almost a goal every other game for Swansea City.

That prompted the Citizens to conclude a £28M deal to sign the powerful striker last January, although he struggled for regular game-time at the Etihad Stadium due to the form of Sergio Aguero.

Moments after completing the deal, Mark Hughes told stokecityfc.com: “Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for us to be perfectly honest, because he knows the Premier League and has scored plenty of goals at this level.

“He has power, speed and very good physical attributes which will undoubtedly help us, and his technical and finishing skills are outstanding too.

“Eighteen months ago he was being bought for a hugely significant amount of money, so we know that we are bringing in a top quality striker."

He added: “Everybody is aware of Wilfried and what he is capable of, and it was no surprise that one of the bigger clubs came in for him on the back of his performances for Swansea - the only surprise has been that he didn’t enjoy the success with Manchester City that we all thought he would.”[/article]

Lee Grant - Stoke City (6 month loan)
leegrant-derby226-3283056_613x460.jpg

The 33-year-old has agreed a temporary switch to the bet365 Stadium until the New Year to provide further competition to the likes of Jack Butland, Shay Given and Jakob Haugaard.

The experienced ‘keeper has made 420 appearances throughout his career - with the vast majority of those coming in the second tier of English football.

Speaking to stokecityfc.com, Mark Hughes said: “We felt it was important to make sure that we are well covered in that area.

“We obviously have good young ‘keepers, but Lee is experienced, he is of a good age and we felt it would be sensible for us to bring him in if we possibly could.

He added: “We have been able to do that, and it ensures we are covered for any eventuality now.”[/article]

[article]Wolves are delighted to confirm that Romain Saïss has joined the Club from Ligue 1 side Angers for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder, who becomes the tenth first team summer addition, has put pen to paper on a four-year-deal.

Prior to his time with Angers, the 26-year-old enjoyed spells with Le Havre, Clermont and Olympique de Valence.

The midfielder has also featured at international level for Morocco, making five appearances during his career.

Speaking after joining the Club, Saïss said: "I am very happy to be here. Wolves is a good club for me.

"It has a good project to get to the Premier League.

"The stadium, the fans and the training facilities are fantastic and I'm really happy to come here.

"I hope to play in many matches and help take the club to the Premier League as soon as possible." [/article]

Richard Stearman - Wolves (loan)
4367-3282633_613x460.jpg

[article]Wolves are delighted to confirm that Richard Stearman has re-joined the Club on a season-long loan from Fulham.

The 29-year-old makes his Molineux return less than a year after he left Wolves to join the Cottagers in September 2015.

In Stearman’s first spell at the club, he made 212 league appearances across three divisions between 2008 and 2015.

The defender was part of the 08/09 side that won the Championship, scoring on the final day of the season against Doncaster Rovers before Wolves lifted the league trophy.

He then helped the Club to maintain Premier League football over the next three years.

Stearman also played a pivotal role in Wolves' 2013/14 season, making 40 league appearances as the Club stormed to the League 1 title.

In his final season at Wolves before moving, the defender won both the Fans' Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year.

Speaking after returning to the Club, the centre-half said: “It feels amazing to be back. I think everybody knows what this club means to me.

“When I heard there was a chance it could happen, I didn’t want to let it pass up. I told my agent to make it happen whatever it takes and here I am.

“I’m delighted to be here, ready to crack on and hopefully can help to get us promoted.

“I know people say not to go back in life but why would I not want to come back?

“I had a great seven or eight years here, I spent a large portion of my life at this club and I’ve got nothing but happy memories so I just want to pick up where I left off.

“I’m looking forward to getting back out at Molineux and hearing that roar from the South Bank."

There has been a number of additions to the dressing room since Stearman left for West London last year but the 29-year-old is looking forward to start working with the new faces.

“There’s quite a few new faces in there but there’s some old familiar ones as well so it will be good to get know the new lads and get back out there with the old boys," he said.

“I’ve always looked out for Wolves’ results and kept up to date with how the boys are getting on."

Not getting a chance to say goodbye to the fans was one of Stearman's biggest disappointments about leaving but now the defender is looking forward to reacquainting himself with the Molineux crowd.

He explained: “I think it will be quite emotional.

“When I left I didn’t really get the chance to speak to the fans which hurt me a little bit.

“It will be great that I never really needed to say goodbye because I’m back and I can say hello.

“It’s going to be a great feeling and I’m really looking forward to it."[/article]

[article]The Club is delighted to confirm the arrival of Ivan Cavaleiro from AS Monaco for an undisclosed fee.

The Portuguese-born winger has committed himself to Wolves on a five-year-contract with the option for a further year.

At just 22-years-of-age, the attacker arrives at Molineux with Primeira Liga, La Liga, Europa League and Champions League experience, as well as an extensive number of appearances for the Portuguese national team across the various age categories.

Having joined Benfica in 2007, Cavaleiro is a product of the Primeira Liga side’s youth system, making his senior debut for the club in October 2013 against Olympiacos in the Champions League.

Prior to his involvement with the first team, the winger impressed with Benfica B in the Portuguese LigaPro, scoring 22 goals in 56 appearances.

Cavaleiro spent the 2014/15 season on loan with La Liga side, Deportivo La Coruña, making 34 appearances during the campaign and scoring on his debut for the club.

The youngster joined AS Monaco in June 2015 where he has since made 17 appearances and netted on two occasions.

Speaking after arriving at the club, Cavaleiro said: “I am very happy to be here, knowing that a good team want me and I’m very excited for this new challenge.

“I knew the club wanted me when I was in Portugal on my holidays. My agent called and told me and said that I could be part of Wolves this season.

“He told me that the club has got a new challenge this year – to go up to the Premier League. It’s a good challenge for us so it’s exciting and I want to help the team join the Premier League."

When asked to describe himself as a player, Cavaleiro replied: “I’m a player who likes to go one v one, I like to run into space to get goals and I’m a team player.

“Every forward and winger likes to score goals. It’s important for hour head and to help the team too."

The winger played alongside fellow new arrival Helder Costa at Benfica and AS Monaco and Cavaleiro explained that Costa's recommendation played a big part in his transfer.

“Helder has told me he’s really enjoyed it since he arrived here," he explained.

“He said it’s a good club, good supporters, everybody has treated him really well and everybody has given him a good feeling about the club.

“That’s very important to me that the other players are here because I lived and played with Helder when we were at Benfica.

“It’s helpful to have other people who can speak Portuguese here because they can help me learn the language."[/article]

Leon Best - Ipswich (free transfer)

The 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international signed a one year contract with a year option this morning after impressing when spending last week training with Blues.

“This is a proper football club. I could tell that as soon as I walked through the door,” the former Southampton and Newcastle striker told Ipswich Player HD.

“You can tell that everyone knows what they are doing, everyone knows what is expected of them. There is a real togetherness here.

“It’s funny because people in the game have told me that Mick McCarthy would be a good manager for me to work under and I’ve felt that as well, now I have that chance.

“He’s a straight-forward, honest man and honesty is a key thing in football. He said to me ‘ come in and show what you can do and we will take it from there’ and that is what has happened.

“I’m a free agent and a lot of players in my situation are waiting to after the transfer window closes to see what is out there but as soon as I arrived here last week and met the players and staff and saw what the Club was about, my mind was made up. I just wanted to get something sorted.

“I know a lot of the players here. I was at Rotherham with Granty [Ward] last year, Chambo I know well and I grew up with Didz [David McGoldrick].

“There is a good squad here and I said to the manager that Ipswich always seem to be there or thereabouts with the Play-Offs. It’s just a win here or there that has been the difference.

“It’s a club going in the right direction and that is very important when you thinking about a move. It’s a massive ambition of mine to get back in the Premier League and I think when you look at the players we have here and the manager, you have to believe that with everyone together, we can get there.”[/article]

Werder sporting director Frank Baumann spoke to the press after negotiations were concluded, saying “we are delighted that Serge has decided to sign for us, even though he had a number of different options. After the injury to Max Kruse we needed to make additions in the forward positions, and we are very pleased that in Serge, we have found a player with the quality to further improve our squad.” Head coach Viktor Skripnik is also happy with the addition to his team. “He is a very young player, but in the recent Olympics he showed the ability he has, the pace he brings to the team and how much of a goal threat he can be. I am confident that he can fulfil his full potential with consistent game time in the Bundesliga.”

Gnabry was given permission to leave the Germany U21 squad’s training camp to finalise the move, and was unveiled as a Werder player in a press conference in Bremen on Wednesday afternoon. “I am looking forward to my time in Bremen.
