Just a quick post about our little magician, I wish he was being treated with a bit more faith and respect. It seems he's the first one dragged off, regardless of form and he looks like the only player capable of unlocking teams or pulling something out the bag. Give him the time and the confidence and he'll produce the goods, he's a cracking player and the closest we've got to someone as creative as Silva. World Class on his day, and yes I know he's had dips in form, but so do many players, he's still progressing and learning.

I didn't really understand the level of stick he was getting early in the season. Last season he had two rapid, brilliant strikers playing off him, bringing out the best in him. This season he's had a static lump infront of him, of course he's going to look short of ideas.

Get him back in the side consistently and he'll produce the goods, but we've got to get around him and give him the runs that will prompt the exquisite passing range that is largely being wasted at the moment.

Him and Lallana could prove a great creative attacking pair. I really don't get this ridiculous either/or/one versus the other mentality. You've got Coutinho fans laying into Lallana & Lallana fans dismissing Coutinho, they're both great, let's get the best out of them, together.

He got stick, cos y'know, Modo is his cheerleader.

For me, coutinho has to start. You then decide whether Allen and/or Lallana play.

He can do, not always, what they can but they can only dream of doing what he does.

I am a massive admirer of his but I hope that all bloody three hit form as we fucking need someone too.

I'll say his shooting had improved when he starts scoring more goals

Odd statement as it is clear he is changing his approach and doing less of his along the floor drags and more hard and foot through the ball shots.

He did all types of bad shots, let's not pigeon hole him

True, though surprising to hear this kind of criticism from a supporter of a striker with the worst conversion rate in the league (or is it all of the top european leagues right now?).

Anyway, Coutinho needs to continue improving his shooting but we all know it's not his main strength. Attacking players that are happy to make runs and movement will be very happy to be playing with him.

He's been badly treated this season. He's normally our main threat.

Fuck knows why he's behind Lallana in the pecking order. He's a bit shit when we don't have the ball but we desperately need goals

Least mario generally hits the target.

Coutinho has improved, but he couldn't get much worse

Don't hate Coutinho, he's just inconsistent and wasteful. He looks great for a few games then it's absolutly fucking muck.

Gerrard can fuck off to the bench though

He's not a defensive mid, or deep lying playmaker. I really don't care what people say

You're a cool, chill motherfucker @Fabio, but you're wrong re Gerrard.

Which is strange, because I usually agree with your posts word for word..

I've actually consciously stopped myself from liking a few posts of yours because of this freakiness..

Maybe we look alike

Least the Gerrard stuff proves we're not the same person

But Allen offers infinitely more defensively

Coutinho is a 60 minute player. He always looks fucked after an hour

We have Gerrard or Markovic to come in for the last 30....Rodgers needs to get the pecking order right.

Can Hendo Allen and Coutinho behind sturridge and sterling is a very good way to finish the season. It may not be as creative as that eleven with Suarez and Gerrard, but it will be better defensively. Lallana and Balo should be used to give relief to Sterling and Sturridge when required.

Next season we can look to improve on Allen and Coutinho and mainly Balo while we continue to benefit from the likes of Lallana and Ibe in the form of good quality squad players.

Last 3 games Coutinho has been excellent.

Yep, 1 deflected goal, and zero assists in those 3 games.

He might have done OK, but let's not forget he was fucking dreadful for the first half dozen games of the season, and despite being a professional footballer, he can't seem to run for 90 minutes.

I'm not about to blow my load.

Zero assists perhaps, but he assisted Sterling in the 3rd goal against QPR in my book regardless of the own goal, and he won us the game.
Stats do tell the whole story don't they?

Like I said, this either/or mentality is dumb, Lallana hasn't pounced on the stat charts either, but most of us can see his quality and what he brings. They're both excellent players and we should be getting the most from them. Like I said about his "dreadful" first half a dozen games, it's a bit of a comedown from having Suarez and Sturridge to feed, to having a big static lump as more or less the only option. He was the only player getting close to breaking the deadlock against Madrid and Hull.
