They had a look at it yesterday and judged it a minor strain that just needed a few days rest and physio. There's another precautionary scan scheduled for today but it's expected he'll be ready for the weekend.

Yesterday you could see the difference in what the journos are reporting;

Maddock - the injury could be more serious then expected

Joyce - could be ready for the weekend, minor strain

It's a sign of how neurotic the club has become about its medical team - we have a youth team doctor still acting - ten months on - as stand-in first team doctor, so we seek a second opinion for most judgements he makes. Normal common sense would suggest we should pull our finger out and hire a proper first team doctor whose judgements will be trusted, but, being us, we stagger on like this.

I absolutely loved that he scored two relatively straightforward goals against Palace and City. Good finishes yes but compared to his usual worldies, they were taps ins. He's needed to add that to his game and hopefully there's many more to come.
