Preferred team/formation and all that lark?

I'm really struggling to have faith in 3 or 4 of the current crop who are starting at the moment to be the honest but with the injuries/suspensions we're forced to play them (or in Moreno's case he only has Jose Enrique as competition and he's more worried about selfies and shit with his missus).

These are the players I'd definitely start, Sunday.

Moreno(I'm not having him at the min but there's fuck all else)

That must be some record for lines of players. Sterling's going to be marking the keeper the whole day.

This is assuming Lallana is fit (is he?). If not then I'd swap him for Allen and switch places with Coutinho.

With Lucas starting i'd be less concerned about full backs bombing forward.
 
Good news for this is that Agbonlahor and Scott Sinclair are both out for Villa (according to Physio Room). Gabby always seems to pull his finger out when we play Villa so its good to see him out.

I'll be worried about a match up of Benteke against Lovren but if Skrtel starts hopefully he marks him tightly.
 
The defence needs to be aggressive from the first whistle with Bentake, a few tough challenges in the first 10 minutes should help.

Formation is the Echo's comment. Obviously it's 3 at the back again. Ibe and Lallana not available. I'd bring SG on after 55-60 mins.

Beyond a joke really. Come to think of it, do we have many players that aren't injury prone? Mig, Skrtel, Hendo, Coutinho, Sterling...can't think of any others really.
 
With Sturridge possibly a doubt, I'd go with:

subs: Jones, Toure, Johnson, Gerrard, Brannagan, Balotelli, Borini / Lambert

One Villa player who hasn't been mentioned is Leandro Bacuna. He's a strong, pacy and aggressive player who can be quite a nuisance. Was in Lambert's doghouse this season, but since Sherwood's appointment, he's provided 3 assists in 5 league games - all of them crosses for Benteke to score. Next to Benteke, he's the one whom I think will cause us the most problems, given our suspect defending down the left. Definitely need Coutinho (or Sterling, if they swap places) to press high and hard on Bacuna, and Allen to help cover when Moreno is caught out while attacking.

Maybe Henderson should swap places with Coutinho / Sterling on the inside left for this game, as he matches up better against Bacuna in terms of strength and aggression. Richardson is probably an easier assignment for Coutinho / Sterling.

I'll try make it to final if we get there though.

No. I can't be arsed. I think Wembley is a load of shit and I don't give a fuck about the FA Cup. If it was at Old Trafford then I'd go, but the FA Cup just bores me.

I don't think it's such a bad thing that it doesn't matter anymore. European footy is well better. Back when there was only one English side in the European Cup it was clearly the big other trophy that everyone wanted to win, and that grew in stature when everyone was banned in the 80s... but now, what's the point when you can watch Suarez megging Sideshow Bob on a Wednesday night?

They could massively improve the relevance of the cup by swapping the 4th place CL spot with the winners. As it is it's got the feel of a pointless friendly to me. Winning it wouldn't come close to sorting out how disastrous this season has been, swapping our CL place with them cunts down the road.
 
If we win the FA Cup I'll tell everyone it's a massive trophy, lose and I'll say it's shit and no-one cares anymore anyway. Win, win.
