Personally I don't associate the term "deep-lying forward" with FM. That's a real position in football with long history and many great players who made this position their own. So how else are you going to shorten it other than DLF? You can also call this position 2nd striker, but personally I don't like this term too much.

On the other hand, CDM is probably a purely FM term. I've never seen this term in any football-related article or in conversation – defensive midfielders pretty much always play in the center, so it's just redundant to call them central defensive midfielders.

[article=http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/barcelona-are-in-advanced-stages-to-sign-liverpools-daniel-agger-for-e15m-sport/]The front page of Spanish paper SPORT on Tuesday bigs up the belief that Barcelona are going to land Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

Barcelona’s search for a centre-back this summer have so far been a fruitless exercise, with the Catalans unable to sign number one target Marquinhos from PSG.

Looking for alternatives has lead the Blaugrana to be linked with a variety of Premier League based players (i.e. Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen), but now it seems that Danish international defender Daniel Agger is the man who is going to be signed.

SPORT report that Barca are in “advanced stages” in the Agger deal, and the 29-year-old could move to Spain in the next few days.

Agger is set to cost €15 million, while the defender is tipped to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona.[/article]

'El gran' is mentioned on that front page. Is Agger's nan his agent?!

Anything north of 10m quid would be a good deal, there's four players on players on big wages, Stevie, Johnson, Agger & Reina, getting rid of at least two should help bring in another one.

I think we should get rid of the last 3 ... Free up almost 300k per week.

If we are being calculated about this then Stevie brings in a fortune in merchandising and indirect sponsorship to offset his salary. The other three don't

I'm not sure Barcelona or Real Madrid make cheap signings, they have to spend a lot as a statement of intent. If we get 15 million euro for him that would be a great deal for someone who is our fourth choice.

Does anyone know if he has returned to the UK. There was a rumuor that he had not seen him in any of the latest pictures.

I think it's a good time for it to happen. We get a breath of fresh air which leaves us with Lovern, Skrtle and Sahko as all top drawer center halves with opportunity for ilori to develop if he isn't loaned out. We get Agger's wages off the bill as already stated and it's got to be an appealing move for the player too. He's in and out of the team too much and I'm not sure if he will ever become the worldie some thought he would be (myself included).
