Danny Ings

Where is the chat about Austin coming from?

There's no link, I just needed a 4th name to add to Ings, Sturridge AND Origi as a possible forward quartet. People have mention Lacazette and a few other young foreign players, who I know little about, so I threw in a name of a player I do know and like.

If we had a strikeforce next season of Sturridge, Ings, Austin and Origi I would be extremely worried and you should all be too.

If we don't finish top 4 this season what strike force would you envisage for next season Hal?

I'm not against signing Ings at all but every time we are linked to a striker of his ilk I always seem to add a caveat to his hypothetical arrival. As in, I wouldn't mind Ings joining as long as we also signed a new superstar in the summer as well. Last year the superstar didn't come, hopefully he will arrive this summer. I don't want to be left with just Sturridge as our main striker with Origi and Ings as back up. Anyway, it's way too early to panic about the next transfer window when this one is still active so I'll naively sit and await Lacazette to arrive (insert new shit hot player here).

Just watched his highlights video and I am well disappointed that he is not coming.

He really does know where the net is.

What superstars were available last year?

Just as an aside, I was amazed in 2010 no-one was in For Suarez after the world cup. Couldn't understand it. You'll find a post from me on that.

That being said, I had no clue he would be that good.

It's a safe bet our next striking gem will just "look good" but not be the finished article. We don't sign them blokes. Their agents send them to a blue or a red club other than us or Everton

I can put together a Youtube collection that can make even Borini know where the net is if you like..

He’s got talent, but this is just more of the same for me. Borini, Lambert, Aspas, etc – middle of the road strikers. Ings may be better than that, but we don’t need marginally better, we need world class. Some bloke from Burnley for 3 million quid is not world class.

Where’s the fucking ambition?

This

People at the start may not have thought Sturridge was world class as he struggled to get a game and then comes to LFC and we make him a beast. Give the lad a chance if he comes. More chances to score, he's quick and is better than the rest we have (besides sturridge and Sterling, if you call Sterling a ST). Watch the Burnley games, he's defenitely worth the risk at 3 mill.

Maybe, just can't see it, sorry

Is Danny Ings any worse than lambert, Borini, aspas, balotelli or origi? I can't see the opposition to him myself. And if he ended up not that great, we'd easily make more than we got him for unlike any of the above.

Oh well that's an entirely different question. I actually don't think Ings and Austin are bad players as such, but are the types of players that we have signed over recent years that have seen us slip from the top 4. It would be a case of buying at our level now, instead of trying a bit harder (I understand this is more difficult) and finding the next top talent. We've shown it can be done. Look at the likes of Sturridge and Suarez. Again, it comes down to opinion, but I don't think the likes of Ings and Austin are the step forward, merely a step sideways.

I'll add further to my point. There is obviously affordable talent out there. I wanted us to go for Lacazette last summer and he's delivered on his early promise this season. I liked Suarez for a few years at Ajax and was firmly in the "SIGN SIGN SIGN" camp after the 2010 world cup. I'm not saying I'm some sort of super scout, quite the opposite. If I can see that these types of players represent better value and less risk than the likes of Andy Carroll, Balotelli, Andriy Voronin, Jovanovic and whatever other lumps of shite that has been lazily plumped for, then why can't people who are paid to do the job 24/7 do a bit of research? It's not that difficult. Other clubs do it all the time, on smaller budgets and arguably with less of a pull. When it comes to signing people our club is lazy and unambitious.

Anagram of INGS INGS INGS, obviously a subliminal conscious decision that you wanted Danny.

Only Liverpool fans could turn this into something against the club when the deal was a no go.
Player, club and manager has said he'll be at Burnley for the rest of the year. But we fucked up....

Will be interesting to see him these last 16 games.
As said earlier Ings for 3 mill added to Studge, Origi and a new versatile forward would be ace.
Lacazette in particular.

Borini, Lambert and Balo could raise a bit of cash at least. 15-18 millish.

Burnley would be mad to sell aswell. 4 mill now or he helps them stay up which is worth 50 mill..

There must have been some meaningful dialogue between the two clubs for Sean Dyche to have Said what he did post match.

I think he will be ours in the summer.

The players head wasn't right, liverpool had messed with his head this week and that he will definitely be a Burnley player until the summer
