If he was playing for another team, I bet most would have him on a short list over CBs we could be after, with the current WC in mind.

Deffo, because he's been one of the best ones there.

But so what? Nobody is denying he hasn't a great WC so far, or that he has played brilliantly in most of our games in the second half of the season. But we've seen him play for us for four years.

I love the cocky twat. He and Virgil will be immense for use this season. We'll probably ship 20-30% of our goals conceded for the season in the first 3-4 games which he will miss, after that it will be cleansheetsville

It’s fucking nailed on he’ll score a howler of an o.g. or something on Sunday.

He may do that - and perhaps that is the reason why he has these mistakes. You get them in all walks of life - where something good happens to someone and suddenly their head gets too big and without realising they drop from a certain standard and BOOM !!! - they fuck up. If it happens in the final - he will be a changed man for sure.

You'd think that fans would hope that one of their players improves, and yet after an excellent run-in to the end of the season, in really big games, many of them seem desperate for him to go into rapid decline again. It's as if they care more about confirming their opinion of him than seeing him do better at what they've previously complained he doesn't do well enough. You can actually discern a real sense of irritation and discomfort at every sure step he takes. You wouldn't get a more bitter and biased perspective if you read through a Spurs thread about him. Bizarre.

Agreed. I am 100% happy with his form and long may it continue.

Exactly

while he's beasting strikers, what's the issue?

Arrogance? And what?

I'm cool with arrogance as long as he's fucking good with it, which he wasn't particularly pre January

Fair play to him.

I love him.

He's a big reason why they are in the final and England aren't.

Didn't he get away with a few prem level yellow cards against England in the first half ? The first that stuck out was the thrust into Kane's (?)throat on the half way line as the last man , im sure there was another not long after

He spent most of the first half the other day acting like a total dick and diving in and generally being rash, which we've seen loads. Their other centre half was constantly bollocking him. Then in the second half he looked World Class. Story of Lovren's career with us really, which isn't good enough.

You want consistency from your players, for them to be considered top players, he's just too hit and miss and has far too much of a high opinion of himself.

He's got his swagger back. Can't wait to see him start the season with VVD. Beasts.

Yeah, I think he took Sterling out as well, which was a definite yellow in any comp. He rode his luck for sure.

yup.

he also made a couple of mistakes that weren't punished.

A defence marshalled by Lovren alongside some bloke who played 1 game in his career in a decent league.

And England still couldn't trouble them

He's a cock, but he's hardly alone in that respect in football. I'd much prefer they were all like Salah and Milner in terms of relative humility but hat's never going to happen these days. Best to just ignore it. Claiming you're one of the best defenders in the world is going to mean fuck all the next time you make a howler. he did finish the season well with us so let's hope that continues. Dunno how long his good form for us would have to last before I'd feel confident another huge mistake wasn't about to happen.

Lovren was best mates with Salah coming to the end of last season, rooming together and all that.

Opposites attract or birds of the same feather?
