Season three folks. New manager, new players same shite. Two draws and our first home match ended in defeat.

Another draw last week was followed by our first win of the season, beating Sligo Rovers at the Brandywell. Onwards and upwards.

Back to the drawing board. Stuffed 3 nil away to Dundalk. Third from bottom, ablong long season ahead.

Another win at home against the mighty Athlone Town who are bottom of the league. 3-2 we were lucky.

Right, firstly an away league match to those little tinkers from Dublin Bohs. Our 'star' strike gets sent off but we draw (yet) another game.

Then a league cup away win,yes win, at Sligo Rovers where said star striker scored the only goal of the game.

Yet another home defeat, a one nil defeat against shamrock rovers. Fuck I hate football right now.

Manager sacked, Roddy Collins given the boot. The assistant, peter 'pizza' hutton steps in.

Now 'Pizza' is a DCFC legend, a proper one, not a 'talksport' version of a legend. However this was in his playing days, he recently managed our near neighbours 'finn harps' in the lower division and did fairly poorly albeit it with little to no transfer funds, he eventually got the sack/walked away.

Now's he in charge no doubt he understands the ethos of the club (actually trying to play football rather than booting the ball and/or opponent into the air). Again there's a caveat due the previous managers utter incompetence having spunked the vast majority of the budget on Scottish and English journeymen.

We have played better with a heartwarming couple of wins but it was back to reality with a 5-2 hammering in fucking Dublin. We're still at the arse end of the table and starting to hear the dreaded "too big to go down" shite on radio/TV.

Right then, proper football is back after a 2 week summer break. Skills, tactics and glimpses of stunning looking Latinas I the crowd? To hell with that malarkey.

Phase two of the season, a home game against the best team in the league, Dundalk. We actually played well, 2-1 up, 5 minutes of injury time and they score via a deflected shot. Still a good performance.

Completed the victory with a 5 nil away win. 9 on aggregate makes it a record win for an Irish side in Europe. Oh and we had a one nil away in thelethe league to ease the relegation worries.

On a roll now with a 5 nil demolition of Bray Wanderers, fantastic attacking football. And the appearance of yet another star youngster, Josh Treacy. He's a left winger, very small and a bit slight. Man Utd wanted him to join but his father said he was better staying at Derry for another season.

Great result indeed Layne, a 6 - 1 away win to one of the quietist places on earth, UCD. Well that was after a thrashing in Belarus.

Bit of a surprise defeat for your lot at the weekend Layne.

Yea it's a big opportunity missed really. Especially with the Dundalk game this week, would've been a chance to pull away from Pat's and would be a huge chance to go three points clear of Dundalk.

Hoping to get to the Dundalk game, Turners Cross has been great attendance wise this season, nice to see.

Think the league is on the up. Hoping for one or two European nights next season!

Saying that Bohs young team seem to have turned a corner and we host them on Friday. Always had a soft spot for CC and i hope you get the league.

Nice one man! To be completely honest it's only my third season following Cork, always followed the league but moved to Cork a few years ago with no prior allegiance so unfortunately I can't claim to be a life long fan but it is an exciting time in Cork. Great to see the city get behind the team and hopefully they can push on and get a big win tonight.

Bloody hell, we're on a bit of a roll with a 4 -0 tanking of Bohemians. it's a pity the season didn't start two months later.

Two great results for ye. The Dundalk game was disappointing from a Cork point of view. Awful way to concede a goal, 45 seconds after equalising.

Two slip ups from your lot. Can you see them recovering?

Back on track as of last night I think. Unreal goal from Colin Healy resulting in a great win against Pats as well as Dundalk dropping points. It's still on as far as I'm concerned. We go head to head next week!

I've also jumped on the Cork city bandwagon. My brother in law is from Cork and a regular match goer back in the day. He was at the Dundalk game with the kids. He was gutted with that late winner. All systems go again after the weekend results.

Well we completely pissed over Shamrock rovers last weekend but couldn't take our chances, they took thiers and beat us by 2 -0. If I wanted one team to beat us, it would be cork on Friday.

Nice one man. Nice to hear. Going to try to get to the Bray game on Monday if I'm off. Shame there's not more coverage on TV. Be great if even someone like 3e showed one every week as well as the Setanta games.

Am moving to a new house at the start if September which is about three minutes walk to Turner's Cross. Love the idea of walking from home to the game and in for a pint on the way.

@dogboy shame ye didn't get that win against Rovers. Would be in a nice position now with a game in hand.

@ILD nice to know I'm not alone on here! Hopefully at least a few European nights next year!
