He's not signing a new contract with Milan.
Has been starting for them since he was 16 ...
He's probably the highest rated goalkeeper at this age since Courtois/De Gea.
I'd offer them Ming and 30 million and try and reel him in ...

For more on why he's leaving:

Raiola is certainly infamous for getting his players to move around club to club for big transfer fees.

However, in this case I can definitely see where the agent & player are coming from.

Milan have recently been sold to Chinese investors and the agent is not convinced that they will lead the club in the right direction back to being among the elite in Europe. If you look at Inter who were also bought by Chinese investors, the investors have ran the club like amateurs - chopping and changing managers, making signings that don't really benefit the team etc.

Similiar things appear to be on the cards with Milan - unable to attract big name players despite the investment, with Morata their main target looking set to go with United for now.

Donnarumma is a life long Milan fan too, despite being born in Naples, so his heart is definitely with Milan. But a player of his apparent calibre definitely deserves to be playing football at the highest level competing for the silverware every season, which Milan don't look like doing yet.

When you consider that Juventus are circling him to be the long term replacement for Buffon - as well as clubs like PSG & Real Madrid - the advantage is most definitely with the agent/player.

This has not much to do about the contract being offered but more to do with the ambition of the player vs. reality of where Milan are at.

The other thing that I forgot to mention, and the most important thing, is that Donnarumma has rejected the 5 year contract as Milan have refused to put in a buy out clause for him.

So I understand exactly where the agent & player are coming from - there's no way he should be risking 5 years of mediocrity at Milan without having a buy out clause.

He's right to be concerned.

I've never seen him play but is he actually a brilliant goalkeeper or are we presuming he's a brilliant goalkeeper because he's playing for a well known club from a young age ?

massive frame.
great shot stopper.
Has a good presence in the box.
I'd say decent in collecting free kicks/corners.
imposing in penos.

@Roopy - about right?

He's fucking brilliant. He's a once in a generation talent. He is clearly buffons heir apparent, but potentially better than the magnificent Gigi.

If he's not winning all the goalie gongs every year in about 3 years time I'll be shocked.

I'd happily spunk 60m on him rather than van dijk

For a few seconds, I was wondering why is LTW starting a thread about the villain in Doctor Strange in the football forum.

If he goes anywhere it's most likely to Madrid - if United don't budge on De Gea.

That would free up Keylor Navas - who I would definitely take at Liverpool if he were to become available.

I don't care how good this guy might be, I want him nowhere near us.

Mind you, that's based entirely on the fact that every time I say his name it looks like Scooby Doo pronouncing Donna Summer.

Donnarumma... I reel ruve Scraggy... hehehehehehe

He won't stay in Italy - that's for sure.
Yesterday's u21 game - Italy fans threw fake money at him.

I predict he'll be on the point of signing for one club but they'll be gazumped by another at the last minute. The media will make it happen so they can use the headline:

"HE'S DONE A RUMMA"

[Coat on, heading for the door]

Well it looks like Donnarumma is about to do a u-turn and sign on with Milan after all.

Apparently he is set to sack Raiola as his agent and remain at Milan.

Ballsy move for him to do that to Raiola, but looks like the right call.

It seems Donnarumma's family is pissed with the entire Raiola clan for whoring the kid out to Madrid.
Milan are also looking to sign the kid's older brother to be their back up goalie.

Good move by Donnarumma.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could be about to fire agent Mino Raiola, it’s reported, as the agent and the Milan goalkeeper’s family have different views.
The 18-year-old rejected a new contract worth €5m per season, as Raiola told the media of “threats” and “mobbing” tactics from the Rossoneri directors.
Over the last few days, the club and Coach Vincenzo Montella – who personally visited Donnarumma’s family in their shared hometown Castellammare di Stabia – have put on a charm offensive to win over the player.
According to Mediaset Premium, this further infuriated Raiola, who sent his cousin Enzo (part of his agency) to Poland today for a meeting with Donnarumma as Italy prepare to face Germany in the European Under-21 Championship.
It’s reported that Enzo Raiola will tell the player there is no news from Milan and push him towards Real Madrid instead.
If the family and Raiola continue to have such opposing views on how to progress, it’s increasingly likely that Donnarumma will split with the agent and seek new representation.
It wouldn’t be the first time, as Raiola tried to encourage Marek Hamsik to leave Napoli several years ago, but he refused and hired a different agent.

That cunt Raiola is definitely not acting Donnas best interests. So obvious from the get go that he wants the money that comes with a move to another team.
Again, if true it's great news for football and the Milan fans as well.
