Yeah what the fuck does that even mean?

He's not wanted here and shit all over the Sunderland deal last summer which would have massively been in our best interests.

Probably means we need some cash from his sale.

I reckon it's just bullsh!t of the "Fabio has attributes which are unusual in strikers like him" variety we've heard from his agent before.

He and his agent obviously have a massively inflated opinion of his talent. He's failed at every club he's ever been at. Twonk.

He fucked us out of 14mill quid to sit in the reserves after he was told he wasn't needed and wasn't going to get played. He can't leave soon enough for me the little twat. And this time round we'll probably get about 5mill.

I'd love to knock him out

He's taking his time, makes me think that the offers haven't been that great for us to accept

I doubt it's that TBH. My money's on a combo of (a) that wife of his picking and choosing where she fancies going and (b) Borini himself still having inflated ideas of the kind of club he can expect to come in for him.

I hope he has special attributes, like closing the door behind him and making a graceful exit. Shame these attributes don't include scoring a few goals.

The worst of it is they did at Sunderland. He didn't do himself, any more than LFC, any favours by turning that move down.

[article]Serie A new boys Carpi prepare offers for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, Alberto Gilardino and Marco Borriello.

This will be their first ever top flight campaign after winning the Serie B title last season.

Carpi want an experienced centre-forward to help lead the line and have several alternatives in mind.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the latest candidate is Borini, who is surplus to requirements at Liverpool and eager for regular first team football.

He would certainly get that at Carpi and push for a place in the Italy squad for Euro 2016.

Borini has also been linked with Lazio, who are taking part in the Champions League preliminary round.

Other options for the Reggio Emilia club are veteran Gilardino now that his loan at Fiorentina from Guangzhou Evergrande has expired and 33-year-old free agent Borriello.[/article]

Not sure why all the hate towards Borini.

Last season he was told he wasn't required - but he stuck around and at least he tried to fight for a spot.

I respect that.

All I hear is how footballer's don't give a fuck about the game & take the easy option out whenever one presents itself - and yet Borini still cops shit for having the balls for taking the hard option and trying to prove the manager wrong ...

Fuck me ... Henderson was told he wasn't required at the club when Rodgers came in ... Rodgers did his best to flog him off to Fulham in exchange for Clint Dempsey ffs ... Henderson said no to the move, stuck it out, and in his case it worked out well and now he's the captain.

Some fair points there, but the Borini and Hendo situations weren't identical. The way I heard it, it wasn't so much a case of Hendo being told he wasn't required as it was Fulham taking the initiative and asking about him. Borini on the other hand (a) had just done well for Sunderland, prompting a generous offer which any twit could see would be a one-shot deal, and (b) clearly didn't stand the ghost of a chance of making it at LFC by that stage.

Borini stayed around for the cash, otherwise he wouldn't have been asking interested clubs for bigger pay checks and would have gone where the football is.

I wouldn't mind him if he'd genuinely fought for a chance and seemed frustrated not to get it, but the feckless little weasel has spent the year just swanning around without a care in the world. Just cancel his contract and boot him out the door.

Has he joined the ping pong club yet?

So in summary, Borini didn't want to go to Sunderland or QPR. He turned both clubs down even though the fans and management were both eager for him to move on. He probably held out for a Serie A club coming in for him on loan and if not he knew he'd get a move to a club more suited to his tastes eventually. He knew he'd get some game time due to injuries and appeared a few times in the CL and got to keep his local missus happy. He'll be back on loan in Serie A soon. What a waste of money he's been. Cannot wait til he's gone and we can forget he ever existed. Also, have we ever seen such an excellent goal celebration wasted on such a limited footballer.

@Liddellpool: Fiorentina officials are due to meet with their Liverpool counterparts in London this evening to try and finalise a deal for Borini.

we might get about half what sunderland offered. after paying him fairly substantial wages for an extra year. what an absolute cunt face.
