Sad to see Coutinho being so underated here. No one has single handedly turned the tide in a game or won it for us as many times as he has these past few years.

Sturridge has

And Coutinho still does it every fourth match. Other games he can't be arsed.

He doesn't press enough

His shooting is still wildly inaccurate

People rate him, but he is not essential to the way we play

Also, you didn't fucking pick him!

It's not about who's done what over the last few years though is it?

First name on the team sheet is who's doing what right now.

And right now Coutinho's good, but he's probably less fundamental to our game than Firmino, Lallana and Mane.

It's not under-rating him to say that, it's just pointing out the truth. Which, incidentally is bloody heartening to be able to say, given how bereft of ideas we've looked without him in the past

So Lallana is more essential to the way we play? Fuck that.

I voted for Clyne because he is our most consistently good player. Every game is a good game for him.

Lallana has got less votes than Coutinho

No one is undervaluing Coutinho. Hes been our best player since Suarez left.

Can't see the poll on Tapatalk, my bad.
I'm glad other people have picked him, he would have been my second choice.

Its tricky because he, Lallana and Firmino actually do very similar things. Coutinho is clearly the best of the three but because they are similar its tricky to say Coutinho is fundamental.
Mane right now is a different alternative. We have no one like him.

Id probably have Mane, Henderson, Matip in first.
That spine.
Coutinho would be next.

Absolutely.
The best in attack, midfield and defence.

At the minute
1.Mane
2.Coutinho
3.Matip

However, last season Can would have been second only to Coutinho. We haven't really had a chance to see how Can fits into the team. Also Firmino and lallana have both had decent starts so it might be a bit early to judge.

Mane is probably our best player at the moment, but he might not become so essential if he loses his sharpness/consistency a bit like he did in previous seasons. So I will go with Matip, who I think is already absolutely irreplaceable.

Matip
Clyne
Mane

in this order

Mane. He's just terrorising defences left right and centre, dare I say it in a Suarezesque way.

I just read a stat that Hendo has completed over 100 more passes than any other premiership players so far this season.

There's about 20 players bunched within 30 below him (roughly between 370 and 400 completed) but he's way out there in front on 500 plus.

Wow.

Excellent set up for the REAL gag.
Well played Bren.
