Alot of talk in the press about us really chasing him. The figure being touted is around £20m and the talent is undeniable but what else is undeniable is his injury record. I don't think I want Liverpool version of Wilshere, doesn't matter how good he is.

Gotze is 5 months younger and has played 229 games in his career compared to Wilsheres 169.
Last 3 seasons Gotze has averaged about 45 games pr season.

He's nothing like Wilshere in terms of injuries and for 20 mill £ its a no brainer.

So anyone care to describe his playing style and how he differs from and improves upon our current attackers?

If he can train to the level needed by Klopp he would be superb.

That's the biggest question mark.

Think of him as white Raheem Sterling. No great pace, but great acceleration and close control. A knack for scoring decisive goals, got 15 or more in all competitions in 3 out of 6 full professional seasons so far. Can play "false nine" or any of the AM positions. Like I said before, not a savior or a leader like Suarez, but someone who will definitely add extra quality that we need in attack.

One of the few times I've seen someone compare a white player with a black player or vice versa.
I like it.

I probably would have gone with the analogy of a German Raheem Sterling. I can't get passed the fact with our luck with injuries he will be out for longer periods. I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt and hope my scepticism bears no fruit.

Their loyalty to their parent clubs is on about the same level too. But Klopp still loves the prodigal son, apparently.

£20 m isn't an expensive player anymore. When we brought Torres in I couldn't believe we finally broke that barrier. Now, that's probably equivalent to a £12 m or so player at that time.

It's a great price.

Why do Bayern want rid?

Robben and Ribery and old, the young kid is on loan from Juve (do they have an option to buy), which just leaves Costa.

Seems like a natural successor to Ribery, no?

Kevin De Bruyne and Götze have almost identical playing styles.

So how is he a white sterling when sterling is nothing like that at all?

A former Bayern player now pundit, Thomas Strunz, saying he's heard Gotze is going to Liverpool.
Praying its true.

I think that the deal is already almost done and dusted. Bayern clearly want to sell to us probably because we offered most money and Götze love Klopp. Not a chance that he will turn down a chance to join Klopp again, not a chance.

Beckenbauer came out publicly yesterday, and said that Gotze should go to Liverpool.

Think that's fairly significant given that he's Bayern's honorary President.

So next year:

Coutinho-Firmino-Goetze

Not bad ... not bad at all.

I am also guessing he is doing his best to prevent Gotze's move to Dortmund.
