Looking at where we are likely to finish points wise this year I was shocked to see just how poor last season was.

I know nobody excelled bar the champions but fuck me.

1 more point than our current total this year would guarantee a top four finish and 5 more would see us 2nd.

Crazy to think we could end up with 4 points more than 2nd did last year and only just scrap 4th or even finish 5th.

Even the champions didn't set the world alight with 81 points.

Both Spurs and Chelsea will blow that number away.

Have the top teams improved that much or was last year just an incredible sh*t season points wise?

It felt like the bottom half teams took more off the top especially at the start of the season. The league table was a mess for a while. Lower placed sides were attacking the best teams knowing they defensive vulnerabilities and it worked. No team had a fantastic defence last year and Leicesters success just inspired attacking play more. I think thats been put right since January of this season whereby normal order has generally been resumed (except by us).

Yeah we've improved. But it's not beyond the realms of fantasy that each top 7 team will finish with more points than they did last season. I think anyway.
Pity we couldn't get our act together last year.
