I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

I agree to an extent but fuck me wanted Gini, what it Newcastle slapped a 50m price tag on him? There has to be a point where we say as a club that a player isn't worth what the selling club want.
If we get a reputation of paying whatever the asking price for Klopps main targets we'll be taken to school more so than we have in the past.

Not that I don't want this lad but at 60m I think it's a crazy gamble much like VVD at 70m, Fucking nuts and unlike Utd, City and Chelsea we don't have bottomless pit of money, we are a club in debt

Wijnaldum, like Mane and Salah, wasn't Klopp's first choice anyway.

Pogba left United and won four Serie A titles on the bounce at Juventus, was named in the Serie A team of the year three times, won Best Young Player, and was also in the UEFA team of the year and FIFA team of the year in 2015.

Keita has played one season in the Bundelsiga and scored 6 goals.

It's a fucking travesty that Keita's price tag is anywhere fucking NEAR that of Paul Pogba.

Considering that prices this year look to have inflated yet again, what would you and others here say he's worth to us? I say to us, as it's clearly who Klopp wants, but do we really need to blow his much on a CM? But then, we can see the difference Hendo makes when he's fit, which he isn't often (understatement of the year) so maybe we do need a boss CM player of Klopps choice, even if we pay over the odds.

we are a club in debt

Jan 2017 Report
Top 20 clubs by net debt

1. Manchester United - €536m
2. Benfica - €336m
3. Inter Milan - €306m
4. Valencia - €285m
5. QPR - €279m
6. AC Milan - €249m
7. CSKA Moscow - €224m
8. Galatasaray - €222m
9. Juventus - €209m
10. Roma - €208m
11. Sunderland - €208m
12. PSG - €186m
13. Fenerbahçe - €166m
14. Dinamo Moscow - €164m
15. Atlético de Madrid - €164M
16. Liverpool - €163m
17. Olympique Lyonnais - €159m
18. Monaco - €148m
19. Copenhagen - €138m
20. Schalke 04 - €137m

Top of the list is Manchester United with a net debt of 536 million euros. United are one of the three so-called 'superclubs who have the most net debt on the continent. The other two are Paris Saint-Germain with 186 mililon euros of debt and Liverpool, with 163 million.
The presence of four Italian clubs in the top 10 places - Inter Milan are third, AC Milanare sixth, Juventus in ninth and Roma in 10th is also telling about the financial situation of Europe's top sides.
As the Uefa report highlights, the level of debt should be viewed alongside revenue and long-term assets - an area of notable strength for United.
While the value of the Manchester club's debt is roughly equal to its annual revenue and only 80 per cent of assets, of more concern are clubs like QPR (480 per cent of assets and 250 per cent of revenue) and Fenerbahce (610 per cent of assets).

Like everything though, that debt has to be taken in context. A relative net neutral 2 years of business and building a new stand (without naming rights) will probably be better reflected in next year's accounts. It's nothing to worry about.

Not to mention tax savings.

Wasn't Keita rushed to the hospital for a heart condition of some sort earlier this year? That'd be my main concern regarding this intended swoop.

Yes, in mid March he collapsed on the pitch with what was reported to be a circulatory problem.

I think he'd be great as a player but I'm not up for having him die on the pitch. Scares me quite a bit.

That's a job for the medical team. He'd probably qualify for "The Full Aquilani".

If all fees have doubled since last summer, then 60mill is probably the going rate for him.

The idea of paying £60m for a player who was signed for £10m 12 months ago is ridiculous frankly and I hope we bin this deal off ASAP.

Then why is Salah a similar price to Mane? The market has increased clearly but that's no excuse to be reckless with our money. I think we're all getting ahead of ourselves here. It's a stupid amount of money that can surely be better spent.

The club have been leaking this link for months to the papers. Surely they would have expected the selling club to increase their valuation for the player.

We should just offer what we think he's worth. Circa £35M. If that's what Bakayoko is going for, I don't see why Keita should be costing much more.

The market is the market. I have no idea about this guy, personally, but invariably you get what you pay for.

Who else is in for Keita? He wants to move. Put in an offer and put some pressure on their board to keep an unhappy player or negotiate a fair price.

The same with VVD. We should have just put in an official 35-40M bid and let them reject it. At least then, the dialogue to negotiate would be open. The sneaky, sneaky stuff bit us in the arse.

With neither selling club looking as if they really need the money, it does seem a bit odd that Bakayoko - who has achieved more and played longer at a high level - should be worth HALF of what Keita is being touted around at.

Not sure with this....

If Salah is 35 ish with what he scored etc then how can a nobody in the game be worth 60???

Length of contract. Desire of player to move. Need of club to sell. Age. Selling club. Buying club etc etc. There are so many variables involved in a transfer, comparing any two will get you nowhere.
