I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

Liverpool Football Club can confirm they have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the future transfer of Naby Keita.

The Reds have agreed a deal with the German club and the midfielder that will see the 22-year-old move to Anfield on July 1, 2018 following the conclusion of the current season.

Keita, a Guinea international, joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2016 and scored eight goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last term to help them to a second-place finish.

“I am delighted that an agreement has been reached which will allow me to join Liverpool Football Club next summer, when I will become part of a project that excites me greatly,” he said.

“My commitment to RBL remains absolute for the remainder of my time at the club. I have given my all every time I have worn the shirt – that will be the case until the final whistle, in my final appearance.

“Having my future resolved means I can now focus on helping RBL achieve great things this season. Until I join my new club, next summer, I will remain an interested supporter from a distance.”

Mate we've signed Naby Keita, WE'VE SIGNED NABY FUCKING KEITA =D

Hopefully not Can. The Echo said Klopp wants to play Keita in a more advanced midfield role. If true it might be Coutinhos replacement.

I hope not, i think he looks absolutely perfect for the Gini role, Can wants to play more as a DM, let him take Hendersons role behind him.

This thread is as confusing, weird and convoluted as the actual transfer of Keita himself.

It's now in The Vault. And also renamed? Perfect.

He has a mixture of skills that make him almost unique. He looks defensively sound, and very strong on the ball but also an excellent dribbler, a playmaker, pacey, and with a wicked shot. He has it all.

Yeah , to be fair though a £50m midfielder best be showing up against a team from the 6th division of German football!!!

Yeah, there's parts of his game he'll need to adapt in the league here though, he takes a couple of extra touches whenever he has the chance which is a habit he'll need to break as that's often how you lose possession here for example.

That pass just before the 1 minute 30 second mark in that video though, outside of the right boot half the length of the pitch to set someone up, that was just incredible football.

This is the kind of player Klopp has always wanted in midfield in preference to out-and-out DMs. If I'm honest I have my doubts about this approach because players good enough to make it work are like hen's teeth to find, but - fingers crossed - this guy seems to fit the bill.
