Seems like he might be going to Villa on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Everything is excellent it's impossible to tell who signed who Rodgers has no favourites onwards to glory.

The player has stressed how keen he is to fight for a place here and prove his quality. The club is entitled to send him on loan to watch how he fares. To that extent it's a good deal, but that option seems a step too far. I understand sometimes these things are very straightforward, while in other cases it's just a polite way of saying 'you can ask to keep him but we'll just say no'. So maybe it's the latter. It'd better damn well be the latter!

I would much prefer to have seen him given a run in the first team...then if he's up to it, stick with him; if he isn't quite but shows potential, send him out on loan; if he just isn't, get rid.

It's not as if we're spoilt for choice in this position.

If Villa have an 'option to buy,' can we reject it if he does really well for Villa? My gut says this guy has something to offer ...

Ridiculous if we've given an option to buy. All young players we sign to go on loan should only be going to English clubs, ideally Premier League, for a max of 2 seasons before we make a decision to move them on or that they'll make the grade

Hopefully Rogers will be gone by then so that the next manager can actually judge and see how talented he is and play him

Loaning him out for experience is one thing but an option to buy isnt the way forward.

Probably deserves its own thread about our lack of strategy when it comes to transfers.

We could do with a fucking list of 'committee' signings and Rodgers-only signings before everyone beats him over the head with it.

I can't believe FSG continue tolerate Rodgers when he continually buys players that are either shite to begin with, played in the wrong position so they look shite and are then fucked off or never given any semblance of a chance in the first place.
He's like women saying they have nothing to wear when all their wardrobes are full of shit they wore once or never fancied once they got it home from the shop.

Yes but nobody on here knows for sure who would belong on which list.

He does look talented when he plays but lets be fair, he's always getting injured. I wouldn't be giving any game time to a young CB who can't stay fit either.

The seriously depressing thing about this latest deal is that it looks again like Rodgers is the boss.

It's another transfer committee or pre-Rodgers player who he doesn't fancy. I keep clinging on to the belief that FSG have a plan that doesn't mean Rodgers is the be all and end all of this club but that's not looking likely.

How do you know who the 'transfer committee' players are? Seriously this gets trotted out all of the time but how do you guys know who the transfer committee signings are and who the Rodgers signings are? Is it just guesswork or do you actually have inside knowledge?

Yes, by this logic, Borini wasn't a Rodgers signing. Except he had him on loan at Swansea, but still shipped him out when it didn't work out for him here. It's a flawed logic, but Peter keeps trotting it out.

It's just yet more unsubstantiated bollocks.

Are you really so one-eyed that you can't work out the answer to that particular 'puzzle' for yourself??

Well just some would be a start.

Show me where the club has stated on the record that a player...any player...was a committee signing.

It doesn't work like that and you know it. I've written in detail before how one can trace the difference between the two approaches. It's tedious having to write something so obvious even once.

If you want to read it again I'm sure you can find it.
