LIVERPOOL and Arsenal have switched their attentions to Real Madrid outcast Isco with Juventus winning the race for Barcelona's Pedro.

Isco joined Carlo Ancelotti's side in 2013 for £24million after impressing during a two-year spell with Malaga.

The Spain international, who rejected the chance to link up with Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City in order to move to Santiago Bernabeu, made a bright start to his Madrid career, but a loss of form and a switch in formation saw him drop out of Ancelotti's first-team plans.

Real saw Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso depart late in the summer, but bought ready-made replacements in the shapes of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.

The new arrivals have quickly established themselves in Real's starting XI, keeping Isco on the sidelines, and reports in Spain claim the 22-year-old is plotting a January exit.

Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger are both big fans of the versatile playmaker, but were instead keen on making a move for Barcelona's out-of-favour winger Pedro.

The emergence of Munir El-Haddadi as well as the arrival of Luis Suarez has left the World Cup-winner surplus to requirements, but it now appears that Juventus is his preferred destination.

Rodgers and Wenger are still keeping tabs on Pedro's situation, but will now focus on landing Isco, who is understood to be keen to test himself in the Premier League.

City boss Pellegrini forged a close bond with Isco during their time together at Malaga and could also be tempted to make an approach, but the Chilean knows he will first have to move on one of his own players in order to make room for the youngster.[/article]
