Isco

He's marvellous, but we have Coutinho as well in addition to Lallana. Isco is probably more well rounded than Coutinho at this stage, but surely Coutinho is just as talented?

I'm not sure. Plus Isco has goals in him.

Isco or Reus?

This video is insane BTW. I didn't see much of Madrid this year (actually nothing except CL and the classicos); how the hell did he manage to lose his starting spot playing like that? His skills are comparable to Iniesta and Cristiano, as a type he looks to be somewhere in between.

Reus has been one of my favorite players for some time though. Tough choice.

Behold the power of a good youtube compilation.

Exactly right. Trouble with all YouTube vids:
1) selective only of moments that are advantageous to the player
2) not representative of the time scale needed to compile said advantageous moments
3) doesn't show movement off the ball
4) shit music
Not worth getting into a lather about it.

The videos of a player from one specific match are a lot more useful for me. Editors often incorporate all involvement a player had to give the video enough length, which is a bit better.

Yes, but no amount of selective editing can create a video similar to that 10-minute tour-de-force from Isco's from an average player. Highlights will never give an idea about work rate or movement without the ball (unless they are specifically made to show these attributes, but those are rare), but there is no quicker way to get an idea about a player's range of technical skills and typical movements. It's far from a perfect tool, but it can be a source of useful information if used right.

Great talent. Watched him destroy Norway in the U-21 Euros and just loved him from that moment.
Never thought we might have a chance of signing him when he went to Madrid.

Can play anywhere really and has massive potential.

Great player but where would he line up for us? Behind the striker alongside Sterling generally wrecking havoc?

(Still on the Reus bandwagon BTW.)

Just saw that AS piece and ran through google translate - looks like Isco doesn't want to go anywhere despite Real accepting a loan offer from Sevilla last week?

Billy Liddell ‏@Liddellpool Protected Tweets 1h #LFC's loan approach for Isco has been turned down acc to Cadena Cope

Why are we looking to loan players with nearly 80 million in the bank like?!

A number of possibilities there :
a) Want to splash our budget for this Summer somewhere else
b) doubts about how Isco will adapt to the PL
c) doubts about how Isco will progress or fit into our team

In all cases it may be nice to loan for a season with a rock-solid buy option / figure built-in. Very doubtful RM would agree to that though, especially if they are looking to recoup some of their expenditure on Hames for FFP.

OK Masher probably the best example. . But it wasn't really a loan deal in the sense of this. .

Third party loan.. So Doesn't count

Ronnie was the best example - 10 match loan at the end of the season, scores a perfect hattrick on his debut, & it gave us the spark to win the league (how many leagues did we win with Macherano?)

Its was only after we singed him on a permanent deal he turned crap
