Jose Enrique

Was there a moment where he turned into a massive lazy cunt or was he always?

I seemed the miss the transition into him being side-lined by the club. He was never great, but there's enough talent there to still be a useful squad option.

He was a passable left back, but I think he got an injury in 12/13 and never returned.

He was always an indulgent player but his pace and power helped him at times. He was injured and then just side lined. Moreno was/is better than him and that's saying something. Flanagan was definitely better than him. Enrique did link up effectively with Suarez for a period of time.

West Brom denying it and supposed to be off to Sunderland. Their ping pong and tanning studio set up must be better.

He's off to Sunderland but nothing is confirmed yet. Echo reported that we would get a nominal fee.

@JamesPearceEcho: Jose Enrique's future remains uncertain. Move to West Brom is not happening. #LFC

When he signed, Ryan described him as a "chump". At the time I disagreed with him, but in hindsight its difficult to say he was wrong.

@JamesPearceEcho: Sunderland distancing themselves from reports suggesting they are in for Jose Enrique. Clock ticking #LFC

I reckon he keeps turning up at the clubs wearing only a pair of speedos.

Jose has tweeted he's staying to 'fight for his place'

In other words, he gets paid more by staying.

This is the result of paying average players ridiculous basic salaries. There should a salary cap on basic pay but that can be supplemented by bonus payments. That way, clubs can pay a respectable salary and ensure the best players are paid top wages, whilst wasters aren't just sitting there picking up the cheque because they won't get paid similar elsewhere.

Mr Rodgers has probably already ostracised Ings and Origi so its all good.

Tbf, he probably realises that there is a good chance we might have a new manager soon that might give him a game. We still aren't particularly strong at left back in terms of squad depth.

Read somewhere that he's on 68k a week. Madness if true.

Another year of table tennis and trips to Dubai.

I don't see how Moreno is better than him. Except that he's younger.

Actually I agree with this, however with caveats. I liked the old Enrique, great upper body strength & technically adept with the ball at his feet, decent tackler too. However it may be all of these recent injuries have put him over the top.

For now my Top 2 at LB are Flanno and Gomez. The more I see of Moreno the more he looks like a midfielder and not a fullback.

It is indeed a sad day. The King of social media has fallen silent:

Not to make this a Moreno thread, but Moreno doesn't go past the defender anymore. He just plays in front of him, which makes him a useless winger with pace.

Always had a soft spot for and wreckon he's better than Moreno but that isn't saying a lot.

he is better than moreno, and at this point we dont know what flannagan is going to be like when back from injury.
