Kane & Alli

Kane seems to be back in his best form again now, and Alli is firing on all cylinders too. I can't see these two staying at Spurs for the longhaul, unless they do something major this season.

Which is worrying really, because they could make any one of the big guns a real force to be reckoned with, particularly Kane. Kane would suit United down to the ground, unfortunately.

At the moment though, they are making Spurs a real contender. They've got a great defense, Eriksen is becoming more and more consistent and a threat, should we be worried about Spurs?

The loss Jan Vertonghen will be a massive blow for them..

Unless they replace him in the January Transfer window, they will struggle come the Europa League...

As for Kane, its inevitable he will end up at UTD..

As for Alli, if we make the Champions League and Spurs don't, we should spend whatever it takes to get him..

yes, we should.

they're are 12 months ahead of Jurgen and his set up. They're as capable as Chelsea ans you'd think this group of players are pumped after the way they imploded last season

could do with madrid picking up both players in the summer

Respect, yes. Worry about, no. All the top six are dangerous teams, but that includes us. Let's maximise what we ourselves can do and leave the worrying to others.

Both are committed to Spurs long term, they are clearly challengers for the foreseeable future.

I feel however, Eriksen & Lloris can be tempted away.

Both of whom have just signed long-term deals and are also less coveted

So, not for the first time, entirely wrong

Kane is, like Gerrard, a local hero and worshipped by the fans, which could mean that he emulates Gerrard and stays for life, eschewing the opportunity to join more successful clubs, but that is by no means a guarantee

Delle Ali is younger and has less affiliation with the club. If he keeps playing like he is, then a truly Elite club like Real or whoever, will make Spurs and him an offer that they can't refuse

The timing of any such transfer is obviously concomitant with the player's form and improvement, but even if Spurs win trophies that would surely only delay the inevitable

Manure will get Greizmann - Kane will stay at Spurs (the funniest rumor I read in weeks was him potentially going to Arsenal!).

Alli will move abroad in 2-3 years imo.

They are gerrard / Torres lite and look to get better. Annoying. That said poch could be off to Barca in the summer and then all bets are off for the usual spurs collapse that follows. Last season they finished 3rd in a 2 horse race

It's hard to see Kane going anywhere and for Delle Ali the only destination would surely be Real as I can't imagine Spurs would sell to Utd and only those two appear to be in the business of buying 90-100M players.

Why wouldn't Spurs sell to United? They've sold arguably their best player to United several times; Sheringham, Carrick, Berbatov

Times have changed, haven't they?

In the past there would be no question of someone like Kane staying at Spurs, local hero or not. Much like Everton with Rooney, they weren't good enough to keep players like that.

Now Spurs must surely consider Utd to be a direct rival and as such would prefer to sell abroad though they may look at a mad bid as being good business and accept it.

Guys you never know - the European football argument becomes much stronger in the case for Spurs and Man United as winning that competition could mean automatic qualification for the CL. Both teams are much stronger than we were last year and have a good chance of winning it, I actually think that is why Jose is not to angry with his current team because he probably views the Europa as a way to get United into the CL.

Think both Kane and Alli will leave at some point. But only sell to Real? Come on.
At some point City or Utd will offer 250k wages and their heads will be turned.

They'll be up there this season if Kane stays fit. If he gets injured they're fucked.

I find myself agreeing with Brendan. I would be very surprised if Kane left for Utd (or anyone) anytime soon. Especailly as Spurs are very cometetive at the moment. He would dispised by his own fans forever. He's alway said that he would never want to leave them.

Yep, they've got some really top players - especially the two you've mentioned - and a seemingly excellent manager. But they're like Arsenal for me; no winners in the side. No guys that you can count on when times are shit. They imploded at the end of last season - a title they should have won, and I don't see how that same group of players - replete with guys that have won absolutely fuck all in their career - can make that final step.

They'll finish top 2 or 3 and really threaten at points, but I can't seem them winning the league.

Could be wrong though - I thought Leicester would shit themselves.

Also been impressed by Wanyama lately, has he gone to the African tourno?

They look a shoo-in for top 4, the front 3 are excellent. They do seem to lack that edge in terms of conviction though, thankfully.

I wouldn't go as far as "shoo-in" (though you get a gold star for spelling it right) but I do agree they'll probably get top four. The main problem they'll face is quite similar to ours at the moment IMO - take one or two key players out of the side and they struggle to maintain their best form.

My favorites to win the league as it stands.

Alli and Kane are pretty unstoppable when on form an they have probably the most creative player in the league 'feeding' them in Eriksen. Best attacking trio in the league right now.

Wanyama, another player a lot of us wanted us to sign when he was still at Celtic, is starting to become that physical and dominant masterclass in their midfield and Dembele is such a wonderful midfielder to have in a team as well with no real weaknesses. Defense looks rock solid and their keeper is pretty extraordinary and they've got two of the very best attacking FB's in Rose and Walker.

Vertonghen's injury will perhaps hurt them a bit but if they can stay clear of more injuries they could well go all the way this season.

I am impressed with Pochettino's work so far and I don't think they are about to lose any of their top players anytime soon. They are a step ahead of us right now, but the optimist in me reckons we are not far off - a few quality players in the right positions and we'd close the gap.

PS I know this may not be the general opinion on here but if we are not going to win it ourselves (which I really doubt sadly) I would so much prefer Spurs to win the league rather than the Manchester teams, the Chavs or Gunners. They are entertaining to watch, they have actually build a team rather than just bought wildly, their manager seems 'ok' and they are not even close to be in our league when it comes to history, legacy etc..

I don't mind Spurs compared to most but if City win it I can go 'meh, football's crap'.

Yeah, plus they've won it recently before

It's a tough one. I hate United, Chelsea, City and Arsenal more than Spurs, but Spurs winning it would be painful in different ways

We'll have to win it instead
