This is fucking horrendous. Our main backup to Coutinho and one of our main stays from last season and yet again we start the season with one of top line players injured. Awful luck.
 
Confirmed by the Echo. Out for a 'few months'.

We need to sign a midfielder asap.
 
We need to go back to Red Bull like.

That's 20+ games over 3 months (inclusive of cup competitions - will miss most of the CL group stage games if we qualify too). Am not confident over Henderson's fitness/injury record too. Certainly need to act fast in the transfer market.

Was it Frogfish who was continuously arguing that our squad is adequate because we will not have as many injuries as last season?

errrr .... leaves CM where we are probably one body short and CB where we may be two bodies short

We still have Coutinho and Firmino for AM and plenty of cover up front. What I was saying in that post you quoted was it is unlikely we'd be caught as short as last season due to having such a small squad. Funny how when you take quotes out of context they can mean something entirely different isn't it.
 
Looks like he was going to be a bench warmer this season anyway, but not good news. The board need to fucking get on it now and make some progress with whatever list Klopp has given them.

Fuck, that was not the kind of news we needed right before the season starts.
 
I think it was @Rosco who predicted that Lallana would have more injuries as he ages and giving him a new contract was a bad idea. Credit where its due.
 
Klopp needs to stop sulking about not getting Keita and identify another midfielder , or preferably a couple.
I have my doubts about whether he'll do it though. I'm sick of hearing about how hard it is to sign specific players from other clubs.
Either the people responsible for aquiring players aren't good enough at their job , the player was unatainable anyway or you have to choose the next target on your list.
Lallana's a decent player but no way is he irreplacable.
