We've conceded three to West Ham, but for me that was just our luck evening up after three dodgy clean sheets.

I think there are obvious issues with the starting line up and the abject failure of them to do anything other than play the way West Ham allowed us to.

The key for me is Henderson coming back, until then we just have to make do

When you keep signing midtable players, you're gonna put in midtable performances. That's just one of the many problems we have.

The key for me is replacing Rodgers as manager. We won't challenge for a top four place if he stays IMO.

Which players from top of the table clubs did you have us buying recently then?

Ings was one of our few bright spots today when he came on.

West Ham is the very definition of mid table and just curb stomped Liverpool today.

Milner, Firmino, Benteke and Clyne arent mid table players though. Its more the set up and a few of the others out there.

What's with Liverpool n Chelsea though? Captains subbed two weeks ago, now both losing at home?

Theres only been 7 home wins so far from 36 games. Its very strange to say the least.

Doesnt matter if he was. The biggest problem now is that the people who hold the pink slip for Rodgers are not clued up enough on the nuances of football to understand the trend we are in.
I think it would take a consistent run of defeats to make them pull the trigger. We sit in 6th level with United and Arsenal and ahead of Chelsea. Thats the only kind of shit the owners will grasp.

As I said after the last three performances, relax guys, we're not that good, or bad.

So yea, the good news is we are mediocre!

Picking the same team that played at arsenal seemed strange to me. It made sense against Arsenal because you know they will push on seeing that they are at home and an attacking team and we could counter attack but to play the same side against West Ham at home when you know they will sit back and try and hit us on the break was ill judged to say the least.
Then to make things worse he goes to 3 at the back because everyone knows how attacking that is. There really is no point in playing Benteke if you don't put decent crosses into the box and i don't think we delivered one decent cross today. Can looks very very average against players who can run off him. No pace or power in our midfield today made us look horribly disjointed against the pacey and strong West Ham lads.

Can has all the physical and technical attributes of a world-class defensive player, but he doesn't have the mentality. He seems to think it's up to him whether to decide to track back and win the ball in spectacular style or just to stand rooted to the spot and watch poor old Lucas try to put out the fire all by himself. Sometimes he decides to do the former and sometimes the latter. Someone should drum it in his head that it's not good enough, he HAS to change his mentality and start assuming responsibility for the defensive part.

Can only seems to want to sprint when he's going forward on one of them runs where he takes people on but ultimately loses possesion as he doesn't have the pace to get away from them. Defensively he reminds me of Balotelli as he's more likely to jog back into position than sprint back even if a team are counter attacking us.

......

Indeed - 3 dodgy clean sheets. Anyone looking at us from the outside would have clearly seen this but part of me wanted to believe that the players were little more solid in their heads, but after today - I don't think anything has changed.

I have kept quiet on Benteke - and so far what I have seen of him on the box - he is able to hold the ball up better than most players of his type that we have had over the years. However, - in every game game I have seen or listened to so far in this campaign there has been long periods where he has not even touched the ball. Against Bournemouth there must have been a 10 minute period where he hardly touched the ball, and again today when I turned the radio on (..at the point where they scored the 2nd goal) - I actually though he was not playing because the commentator did not mention his name for a long time which obviously means he was hardly involved in the game.

I think right now - the only thing this team should do both home and away is just defend in numbers against ALL teams not just against the big ones, because right now:-

1) We cannot attack coherently or with much purpose
2) Our defense is average at best - and needs to have two holding players in front of it to protect it.
3) The new recruits are not world class in any way that Suarez was.
4) Coutinho is not as good as we think he is - but is our only proper creative outlet
5) We are just slow going forward and teams can easily stop us.

We need to play like we need to survive in this league - it has to be back to the way we played under GH. I would rather we win 1-0 or draw 0-0 than try and attack and lose 3-0 like today. I don't have any faith in this manager - and right now ,if I look back at our past - we could do with Rafa returning to us.

On the plus side we are ahead of Chelsea and Spurs and Level with United and Arsenal.
Only City are off and running.

Worry is I have no faith now in us getting it right.

Eh?

We haven't bought any really? Only Milner... hence why we're shit. Kinda my point.

When you keep buying people from Sunderland, Southampton and Villa, you're gonna start getting similar results to Sunderland, Southampton and Villa.

Can we buy from top clubs? No, probably not. We could have done. But we may have missed the boat on that now and we've been persisting with this shit, failed, outdated transfer policy for about 20 years too long.

I think we have a large number of players who would look at home at midtable clubs. We have more average, midtable-standard players than we do true quality.

I think we will beat United at OT.

Trouble is I'm not sure if that makes me more or less angry about yesterday.

Its ridiculous. And something that has no doubt destroyed a few accumulators
Chelsea's and our loss let me down for a 12 team acca. I didn't expect it to win like, but to be let down by those selections was galling. I wasn't angry enough to ban anyone though, do I need to get angrier?

So we win our next game at the shit, Benteke and Firmino score, and we keep a clean sheet - Rodgers is a genius again, Lovren's great, Lucas is fucking wonderman.

When has Rodgers ever been a genius? Apart from his own book?
