After a discussion in the Stevie Me thread (how I hate that nickname) I thought it might be a good idea to find out what you think would have seen a complete forum meltdown from the past.
If you look at something as piffling as Ballotelli taking a pen, what else would have got the hackles up to a ludicrous degree?
Paisley taking the captaincy off Thommo and giving it to Souey, after Bob and Thommo had a very public falling out on the pitch at Villa, and Thommo's consequent refusal to speak to Souey would have run to about 100 pages.
Paul Walsh knocking out Kevin Bond and getting banned would also have been pretty long-running.

10.43 onwards. A swift left to Bond's jaw.

Molby getting jailed.

Molby and Walsh turning over cars outside gay establishments.

Ray Kennedy knocking out Case in a bar after Case was starting to lose it.

You didn't get shit like this before the internet, that's for sure.

I remember Saint & Greavesie doing an analysis of Liverpool's squad issues at the time. A series of photos of injured players (Whelan, Nicol etc) with a text banner "OUT" written across each one, then one of Big Jan with a banner "IN" and jail bars.

If I had known what LOL was then I would have LOLed, as it was I just had an audible chuckle

Didn't know about that one.
It's in Souness' book. The first one.

We'd lost in Eastern Europe. Case was drowning his sorrows and becoming a nuisance. So Ray, who was his room mate, throw a short right cross, put him over his shoulder and put him to bed.

All of our disasters in terms of the death of our fans and other fans.

Granted if the internet did exist back then it might have been a vehicle for the truth to come out sooner.

Still I can only imagine the shit other fans would be posting

I remember watching this too.

This was the first thing I thought of.

I wish we could pick & choose when the Internet existed.

I love tonnes of it. The 'darknet/tor', usenet, torrents, irc, media downloading & streaming, instant news, being able to talk to my mates in Australia gratis & video call them should I want to, the kids being able to see & speak to my mum regularly despite her living in Wales, being able to play any video/computer game from my childhood, Linux, Wikipedia & Google.

Conversely I hate the fact it's obligatory to be on Facebook to stay in touch with large swathes of friends, I hate the fact that pub quiz nights are now complete shite (why on earth pubs don't use a mobile jammer & advertise the fact is beyond me, they're dirt cheap to but & easy to make & they'd earn shitloads from customers who want a genuine pub quiz is beyond me), I hate the fact people want to show off about their gig history so much that every gig you go to has a sea of mobile lights in the audience where once were lighters.

You need to get your pub to use the speedquizzing app. Each team uses a phone/tablet to answer through the quizmaster's wireless network. It has a time limit and locks all the pads, so don't have time to Google. My local's been using it over a year now and it's packed every week.

Holy smoke. I never knew that either. Case was hard as nails himself (allegedly the only bloke ever to make Souey take a backward step, over an incident in training one day) so goodness knows what that made Ray Kennedy.
