Didn't see 1st half, but what I saw was very encouraging. Liverpool FC now seems to have the same consistent style and philosophy of play throughout all the age groups – and it's a good, modern football philosophy, based on possession, team pressing and combination play. Because of this it's easy to see how a player like Williams or Alexander-Arnold or Ejaria can potentially fit in the senior team and for a number of them it seems only a matter of time. The importance of this cannot be overstated – this kind of pipeline from the youth system to the senior team is how Ajax came to dominate football in the 70's and Barca in the 2000's. This is much more important than signing a new left-back this window or whether Lucas stays or goes.
