David Gold:

[article]"It was a well deserved victory and there was nothing fortunate about it. I cannot tell you how excited I am and we have made history.

"I spoke to Darren Randolph and joked he will not get his wages because he didn't have to make a save!!"[/article]

That's a total lie. Lovren had a shot from 40 yards after about an hour.

Yep. One shot on target all game.

Against West Ham. At home.

Fucking joke. I've gone past laughing & finally hit some weird balance between apoplectic & apathetic. Apoplathetic?!

I just don't get how Teeth manages to see that lucas makes sense against arsenal away, & then doesn't see why you don't play him against West Ham at home. The way the two sides set up & play are polar opposites, yet he tried the same thing. He then took almost half the match to try to change it, & when he did, chose to put a defender on at 2-0 down.

I'm fairly sure FSG could use that as evidence to sack him within gross misconduct grounds FFS.

Even if Rodgers got the tactics wrong shouldn't he do some man management ? The way the players played without any urgency or self belief was painful to watch.

Yes but the players also have to take their share of accountability for that too. They shouldn't need a motivation to put up a more spirited performance than yesterday.

The first goal is an example. Skrtel pretty much had a free header there (the challenge on him was minimal) and he came up with that misdirected, limp-knecked effort. There's not an awful lot Rodgers could do about that. It was just sloppy play.

Yep - the team should have performed a lot better regardless of the managerial decisions, which were poor. The first 2 goals consist of three major mistakes, Sktel's header, Gomez being beaten to the ball and Lovren being Lovren. Skrtel and Lovren in particular are capable of much better and we were efficiently punished for those mistakes. Not long after half-time, in which he finally gets a chance to reorganise and go again, Coutinho goes and gets himself sent off making the come back impossible and reducing spirits even further.

The players deserve the majority of the grief from yesterdays performance. That's not to absolve Rodgers. I doubt he had the capability of turning the match around anyway, but he was certainly let down drastically today, and the fans who paid £50 to watch that shower of shite were the real victims.

It's Rodgers's own fucking fault he was playing Lovren in the first place.

I mean, seriously, what the fuck is he doing there? After the season that fool put in last year, starting him ahead of a perfectly decent defender like Sakho is practically a sackable offence on its own.

We're going in circles now but Sakho really isn't a 'perfectly decent defender'. He's a defender who improves when he's not in the team.

Perfectly decent means he's good but not brilliant. Sound. I think that's a restrained assessment.

The guy is a France international.

For the record I didnt say he was shit or will be. Just looks a bang average player right now.
Scott Sinclair has done more in the last 2 games.

Scott Sinclair has been playing in the league for years. Seriously though, the tap in goes in for Benteke and the 25 yard shot yesterday goes in and it's a different story. I think he's getting upto speed at the minute, give him time. I know you didn't say he's shit, but it's pointless making any sort of bold assessments at this stage.

He's a defender who improves the team

There's a difference

He's also a defender who appeared in that horror show against Stoke, so he doesn't necessarily improve the team, it's much of a muchness, we need another defender because they're both shit.

Discussing the players again? It is a red-herring.

Well it's not really is it, not when his biggest critics say his signings are a big part of the issue. So what are we saying? He's a shit manager who's signed good players who he doesn't get enough from? It's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Just as inspiring as the drivel you spill out. You and mark are just realising you've been and will continue to be proven wrong about Rogers and everything to do with him.
